Fabrics for Less

This place is amazing! I haven’t been this excited about a fabric store in a long time. This isn’t the place for quilters, flannel pj makers or basic sewing. This is the adventuring, treasure hunting kind of place where you find jeweled trims, fancy ornate fabrics, Pakistani and Asian fabrics, velvets, sequined chiffons, etc… stuff costume dreams and prom dresses are made of. The two men who were working there stayed very close by while I was hunting which at first felt a bit uncomfortable, but not too far in, the older gentleman was offering wonderful suggestions on fabric combos for me and helping me look for trims. His creativity and great eye helped me put it all together. I cannot be happier. And the prices are most excellent to boot. I want this place to flourish… It is seriously one of the most exciting places in the Seattle area that I’ve found!

Yikes, this place literally and figuratively stinks. Fabrics For Less is an open warehouse of fabric with tables galore of a variety of fabric that seems to be tailored to the Middle Eastern culture.
I went here to look for 100% cotton, quilting fabrics and found that unless I was in mind for a silk, lace, furniture covering, or something specialized then I was looking in the wrong place.
I highly recommend you not waste your time… unless you’re making a gaudy costume.

I live in Florida and visit Seattle once or twice a year and ALWAYS go here for fabric. the gentlemen who work there are very pleasant and helpful. Got lots of really good stuff today for so much less than Florida, (if I could even find as nice fabric there)

Huge selection decent prices but felt slightly uncomfortable with owner watching myself and my husband around the store suspiciously.

So cheap! So pretty! What’s not to love?

If you have anything to do with fabrics, you’ll go crazy in this place! Friendly staff, colorful choices, unexpected textures. Spandex, silks, laces, quilt fabrics, chiffons and more! Anything and everythinf for your home décor, design clothes and projects with kids.

When I went here the owners both promised that their in store seamstress was the best and could make my outfit just like the picture that was not the case. The garment didn’t even remotely resemble the picture nor did it look like what we discussed. To make matters worse they totally disregarded the fact that we had a dead line. I don’t recommend using their seamstress. When I told them I was not pleased with my garment that was made they kept telling me I had to pay for the fabric even though I did not like the garment. It almost resorted into a physical altercation. The place is soo dirty and dusty, but their fabric selection is awesome. If I didn’t have such a bad experience with the shop owner I’d rate higher. If I was rating based solely on fabric selection and price. Rude people suck. I repeat don’t use their in store seamstress.

Seriously, I kind of had to remember to breathe when I was in here because the selection of fabrics is insane. Rows of spandex, glitter, sequins, satin, you name it! All with prices that seem to average $ 4 – 6 a yard. Yeah… you heard me right. $ 4 – 6 dollars a yard. I don’t think I saw anything here breaking $ 10– and those were like the amazing princess fabrics that would cost an arm and a leg anywhere else. I was in shock and awe with just how much AWESOME fabric was here and for how little the prices were. The amount of great trimming and other sewing accessories is phenomenal as well.
Service however is a little weird. You need to find an employee and wave them down to cut fabric for you right where it is. They don’t want you bringing it up front. The organization is a little haphazard as well. It can and will probably take you a while to find all the fabrics you want. But when you do. Wow… so cheap!
So… even for being ~so far away~ in Renton, I’ll make Fabrics for Less my #1 spot when it comes to costuming and clothing needs.

This is fabric Mecca! It’s nothing but beautiful unique fabrics — rolls upon rolls. None of this 45″ stuff, it’s 60 — 72″. The guys are great to deal with. Very friendly, and if buying in bulk, are willing to deal. I have a organization that requires the officers to wear matching attire; they held two bolts (110 yards) without requiring a deposit and are allowing the officers to come in and purchase the amount that they need. I can’t speak higher of this store.

I’ve been sewing formals for years and when the Hancock in that location left I was VERY disappointed. That was however until Fabric for Less moved in. This place is amazing for one of a kind and specialty fabrics. They never disappoint and when I need that killer fabric for a special project, they always come thru. The trims section could be a store in itself! There are so many fun, fancy and fabulous trims that you have to look at them just for the fun of it. I HIGHLY recommend this store if your in the market for fancy, fun fabrics… Not even a close second for quilters though.

The salesperson (man with the dyed orange hair) was extremely rude and unhelpful. I wanted to try on some clothes they had and he kept telling me it wasn’t my size and wouldn’t even get it down for me, Its like he didn’t want my business at all. I wonder if it was because I am not Indian. I will not come back to this store.

This fabric store is pretty incredible. It’s not your average store. Slightly unorganized, but it makes searching for a treasured fabric that much more pleasureable. Prices are ridiculously cheap.
and most importantly, as a male shopper this is one of the few store in the seattle area that acknowledge me as a textile shopper.

they have almost any fabric and for so cheap. we are part of a dance troupe and they are a saving grace. would definitely recommend checking it out. can find more than fabric here too but the quantity is always up to the remaining inventory they have available… we have not been disappointed so far !!

Fabrics for Less is an odd place. It’s a large, open space filled with fabric, cheap rugs, trim, notions and Indian/​Pakistani clothing/​jewelry. Situated in a shopping center next to Viet Wah, it isn’t the prettiest place in the world. It does have its appeal, however.
Family owned and operated, this store carries bolt end fabrics, mill closeout fabrics, cheap imported fabrics, and some other stuff. There’s upholstery fabrics, drapery fabrics, spandex, stretch velvet, polyester chiffon in every color, suiting, glitter dot, a few silks, some amazing sparkly sequin fabrics and more. You’ll also find beaded appliques, coin-​studded hipscarfs for bellydancing, weird bins of buttons and other oddities.
Prices are quite low. Much of what they sell is of lower quality and almost all is synthetic, but the prices reflect that. If you need bargain fabric, this is the place.
My favorite part is the trim section. They have the craziest stuff. Need hot pink bead dangle trim with holographic sequins? You’ll find it here. How about thick tassel trim with clear ‘crystal’ drops? Yep. Something that looks like a cross between a tinsel garland and fringe? Sure thing! Underwear elastic in an array of colors and sizes? It’s here. You never know what you’ll find. Again, prices are pretty good — typically $ 1−3/yard.
The place is a bit chaotic inside and they don’t always carry the same stuff. However the staff is pleasant and helpful. Just let them know what you need and they will accommodate you.
Despite the overall humbleness of the place, this is one of my favorite fabric shops in Seattle.
