Dealt with Chris Davies, who did a great job. Saved us a s**t load on our monthly payments. He was professional, diligent and a pleasure to deal with. All promises fulfilled.
This is a real review and I have NO connection with Kiel in any way shape or form other than being a very satisfied customer.

Despite the radio ads offering to work beyond conventional methods to get someone approved for a loan, Kiel only wants to work with you if your credit score is better than the Pope’s. So if you have spotless credit and aren’t a veteran, they will be happy to help you. Whatever makes their job easier. I could go on but I do believe in a modicum of confidentiality. But when you ask about something and they tell you the rules say one thing and you have spoken to the rulemaker who denies it, pretty much you look like a liar trying to cover your own butt.

I would give them no stars if I could. I went with Kiel to refinance my home as a neighbor recommended them. Needless to say, after being quoted a great rate and paying $ 500 for an appraisal, months later my home has not been refinanced and I am now out of $ 500 for an appraisal I NEVER should have been asked to get. VERY DISHONEST lenders here!

I was so disappointed with the process and Kiel Mortgage. The first day I called them I was able to give them copies of tax returns, pay stubs, bank statements, stocks, rents and everything they would need. It took almost two months to close. After we were suppose to close for the second time I was told it would be for a higher interest rate and a longer term. I was stuck and had to agree. After 45 days of processing my loan they were still requesting more information. My broker Chris said he was impressed with how quick I got paper work to him and it still took forever and was different then when we originally agreed to it.
I would not recommend using them. It was a nightmare and they were condescending.

Kiel gets a second star for one reason only: they did work with my unusual job situation and secure a loan for me when other lending institutions wouldn’t. However, the customer service my husband and I received during the process was abysmal. We had decided to try Kiel because of the great ratings it had received from other reviewers (there used to be far more posted than there are now), but were disappointed (to say the least). After receiving pre-​approval for our loan it then took two months to secure final approval, causing us to pay over $ 400 in penalties for extending our closing date twice (both times we extended to a date our loan officer assured us we would be able to close by). We eventually had to switch to another type of loan than the one we had been pre-​approved for, but even that only happened because I suggested it. Many of my questions to our loan officer went unanswered – or patronizingly answered – until our real estate agent asked them and got the full information. We were constantly being asked to provide additional documentation, even to verify information they had received weeks prior.
Worst, though, was that when I emailed my concerns and frustrations up the chain of command I received NO answer.
This experience seems so out of character with what I’ve read about this company, I have no idea what happened. Was this the first loan our loan officer ever processed? Were all the customer care people on vacation? Was the purchase price of our home just too low for them to really concern themselves with? I have no idea. All I know is that if you can find another lending company to work with you, I would stay away from this one.

I recently refinanced my home through Kiel Mortgage. I have to say they were the most on the ball company I’ve dealt with in a long time. Shannon was a joy to work with and made the loan process as painless as possible. Kiel helped get my credit information corrected so I could qualify for the best rates out there (4.25%) without a buy down.
Shannon was a God send in this transaction. It is rare that you find individuals with her level of expertise and willingness to help the customer through very confusing and technical transactions. Way to go!
I would use them again in the future and recommend them to all my friends.
