Conversation and community are important features of the Luther’s Table culture. Our specially trained barista staff offer programs designed to bring our guests together and get them talking. A full calendar of events includes: a weekly open mic night, Children’s Storytime, lecture series, movie nights and community forums.

As a non-profit organization and coffeeshop, the commitment to community runs deep. Luther’s Table gives away 30% of all the donations it receives in lieu of tips to a different non-profit every month. The Warm Up Coffee Program provides a free cup of coffee and a place to be for the homeless men and women of Renton.

History

Established in 2011.

In 2006, Renton Lutheran Church closed after over 50 years of ministry in downtown Renton. It had a long history of feeding the neighborhood through its community suppers, food bank, serving as the cafeteria for Renton High School. Luther’s Table continues that tradition by welcoming everyone from our diverse neighborhood and serving up delicious sandwiches, salads, and pastries.

Martin Luther developed the pastime of inviting his students to his home after class to discuss theology and to share a pint of his wife Katy’s home-brewed ale. At Luther’s Table, we continue that tradition of hospitality with programs to provoke conversation and a bar featuring regional beers and wines.
