Marinello Schools of Beauty Salon

This was my first haircut in 2+ years, it was a wonderful experience. Kaylene was amazing. Very friendly and energetic. Calmed my nerves and did a beautiful job. I’m definitely coming back to her.

I have been to many beauty schools and was shocked to walk into this dirty school. Nobody was professional and if I had not made an appointment I would have walked out the. The young Lady Susie that gave me my manicure was good but she still needs a lot of guidance on manicures. Not ONE instructor came over to check on her work. I wish Susie the best of luck but I will not return to that ghetto school.

This review is for my girl SHARON! About six months ago, I called marine lol asking about hair extensions and fortunately, Sharon answered! While hair extensions are not a normal service offered, she told me to come in for a consultation. I brought in the human hair I had bought and we made an appointment.
Sharon did amazing work! Everyone comments on how awesome they look. I have had far less bonds fall than other girls I know with extensions. Ultimately, this was the best!
I would recommend Sharon to anyone looking for an install. On me, she did the micro bead, but she has experience with tape in as well (I’m sure there are others)

I am very upset. After being a long term client I noticed that students pick and choose if they want to work. I was placed with a newer student who took a long time to do my hair. I wish they would learn about loyalty to clients as well.

I went today and Kim P. professionally worked on me, giving a wonderful scalp, deep conditioning treatment, blow dry and flat iron. Awesome personality, timeliness, and work! She also gave me individual eyelash extensions, that I’m in love! She’s wonderful and I highly recommend coming and having her beautify you!

Preface: I danced traditional Hawaiian hula for about 10 years, but I had to stop last year due to my unconventional, crazy life. So needless to say I’ve always had long hair, even before hula. If my sister couldn’t cut my hair, I tried to find economical resources. Then I found beauty schools.
I’ve moved from Ventura County to the Valley a couple of months ago. This heat is no bueno with long hair & in my line of work (wedding coordinator/​sous chef) I always have my hair up or in a bandana.
Let me tell you why I go to beauty schools… They don’t get long hair like mine very often & besides the fact that it’s a show stopper, they need the experience. So I come in with an open mind & a happy heart because beauty schools can be intense. They may be somewhat nervous, most of them are young trying to figure out their direction like the rest of us. But I always go in with the intentions of sticking around for a couple hours just in case.
* FYI: Do you know how much it costs to cut 1 – 2 inches off a foot & a half length? (Anywhere from $ 50 & upwards!)
Friday, 9÷11÷15 — There is a beauty school down the street but they were booked for the day. (Their loss, Marinello’s gain!) I was on a mission to relieve some length & free up my vision with bangs. I thought 4 inches from the back & cute bangs for a change. Then if I wanted shorter I’d come back at a later date.
Well, it resulted in maybe a couple inches from the back & bangs. With suggestions from several students, very informative resources & lots of people touching my «virgin» hair (violated some, but fun nonetheless!) I will prepare myself until December for a big chop!
It takes time for everyone to warm up to you, get to know your story & why you are there. Rocky was cool as a cucumber & had me laughing the whole time as he was brushing my hair! «I feel like I’m brushing the princesses hair in the castle!»
I don’t get my hair did very often & I guess working so much doesn’t give me interactions as such but I am looking forward to December! & when I do, my 4 stars will become 5 & I will bring some Pua Luv!

Ask for Susie if you want a manicure or pedicure! She was SO sweet and did such an awesome job. She was the nicest girl ever and made sure I was comfortable and happy. The prices here are great too. The only downside was that Marinello doesn’t have real pedicure chairs like they do in professional salons.

Jessica Ponce was my hair stylist that day. My day started out terrible, but by the time Jessica finished, my day was SO much better. She was professional, as well very friendly. My hair turned out beautiful, curly, very different than I usually have it. Very nice change. Thank you again, Jessica for making my day happy. Hope you see you again.
My only issue with Marinello school, is you have an appointment but they keep you waiting a very long time. Now they don’t have cashier, so you have to wait for .a teacher has to be called to take your money, if she’s not busy!

We just had our hair colored at Marinello and it was terrific. What an unknown treasure!
Casandra colored my hair and she hid all of the grey and the color not only matches my own but is warm and looks healthier now than before. She was terrific and washed my hair and it felt great!
Kendra did my daughters hair and she was so patient and worked so hard to make her happy and have her hair just right!
And on top of great service the price was incredible! Less than half of what you would pay at a salon.

The ladies at the front desk were great and personable. Made me feel welcome and put me at ease since I hadnt been to their school for a haircut before.
The woman who cut my hair made me feel very uncomfortable. She made me feel like I was inconveniencing her coming in for my haircut. I asked for a very simple undercut fade /​trim and she seemed confident she could do it. She sat me down (smock on sideways not covering my legs) and immediately attacked my scalp with her clippers going very rough, fast, scattered, and very unorganized. I knew my hair was in trouble. She took a chuck out of my necks hairline and didn’t even have the guts to show me or apologize even though I definitely felt her clippers slip! She also left random patches of hair different lengths throughout my undercut and tried to call it a «fade». I was over it at this point and asked her to make it all one length (I still had to fix it myself with my trimmers when I got home).
Instructor never stopped by to check on her but she asked her classmates for their «opinions» while she was cutting and they had nothing to say (I could tell by their faces that my hair was beyond repair at this point).
Register would not read credit cards so paid cash. I wanted to get out of there ASAP so I could go home and fix my hair. Nobody even asked how my experience was or if I even liked the cut. Very disappointed.

I had The best experience at Marinello school of beauty in Reseda. The team was amazing and a special thanks to miss Sonikh teacher trainer and Shara and Star

This experience is one for the books, janelle did my hair from dark brown to a gray, she did such an awesome job! Her personality is the best, she made my feel very comftrable and was very concerned on my opinion. She really deserves the five stars for her amazing job. Also Sharon. K and Josie were great with my during my service! I am very likely to go back.

I’ve been going to this Marinello location for years for hair services.
The students who do the work are attentive, friendly, skilled and knowledgeable.
The instructors come by several times; at the beginning of your session to find out what you would like and discuss with the student how best to proceed, during the session if you or the student have any questions (as often as needed) and finally at the end to review the student’s work.
The attitudes of both instructors and students are positive and customer centric. The whole place hums with activity and energy.
It’s also fun for me to talk with the students and find out why they chose this career and where they hope to take it.
I highly recommend this place for hair services.

I got my hair done last night by My-​Desire. She was very professional. She let me know what she was doing throughout the entire process which I appreciated. She did a very good job pressing and flat ironing my natural hair. I had other experiences where students have made a big «spectical» about how thick my hair is. Which I can’t stand. The instructor Ms. Sonika was walking around and monitoring the ladies and being of great assistance to the students. I have never seen this and I’ve been coming here for over 5 years. You can tell she was very knowledgable about hair and teaching. When it came time to trim my ends she helped My-​Desire and my hair came out perfect. I really think Ms. Sonika is a much needed addition to the Marinello family (especially this particular location). I can see myself coming in more frequently knowing someone is there like her guiding the students.

5 stars because I was not going to do anything but decided to do my hair and a mani and I had such a great experience that I’m definitely coming back to see Jocelyn Nevarez she did a great job on my hair and she was very nice too !!! I had my manicure with Sharon Rosandich she was great too very professional and nice will def come back to her and I know I can also have her do my hair too… Marinello keep up the good job with your students I applaud you I will def come back. Prices are on point and services are great

I have been coming here for quite a while now but never did a review and realizing I should have the school is putting out people that are doing amazing work.
Their pricing is great.
All my life I had hair short cut to the neckline now in the last 4 years my hair is now down to the middle of my back and nobody can do a blow dry to my hair as good as Amanda.
I also spend time here watching the other students and they are all very well trained I wish them all luck as they graduate and move on but the school is really doing a great job at their teachings.

I absolutely love Marinello, ive gotten my hair done by Roya and everytime I leave with a smile:)

I was greeted promptly by the women in the front and asked about what services I was interested in. An instructor helped the student (Tashanna) to better assist her during my visit to insure my needs were being met. I am pleased thus far.

The reason why I’m giving this place only two stars is for their overall customer service! I had an appt with Jessica for a manicure and have was very good, polite, her work was well done and clean!
But this beauty school needs to realize that some clients would appreciate a bit more effort I customer service skills. When I walked in, the two girls just stared at me! They didn’t say Hello, or how can we help you? Why do they have people like that in the front? When I left they did not say thank you, come again, not one word! And not only that but her overall demeanor was not very friendly!
I don’t understand why a place like this that teaches people to work with clients doesn’t lead by example! Although their services might be good I wouldn’t go back just for the uncomfortable feeling!

I made a lash application appointment at 6:00 p.m. today. Right now it is 6:32 p. m… My former boss got great lashes at the Simi Valley location but what the freak, dude? Thirty-​two minutes for an appointment is ridiculous. I will update this Unilocal review if the lashes turn out well… Or if they ever call me.
Also, they took a woman who came after me (with no appointment) to get her eyelashes applied. Is that fair?
*I just overheard them talking to one another. They have no eyelash glue… Seriously?
