Community Montessori School

My daughter has attended this preschool since she was just under two years old. We have been extremely pleased for the last two years with the compassion, dedication, and deep experience of the teachers and administrators. This is a family owned preschool, and the owners are extremely involved. Between their two schools, they probably have upwards of 200 students — yet they seem to be on a first name basis with all the parents and students, and seem to really pay attention to the individual and unique needs of each student. The school is spotlessly clean, and the materials and supplies appear to be updated on a regular basis. There are plenty of opportunities for learning, as well as play. Unlike other schools I’ve seen, what sets CMS apart is that they truly treat you like family, and aren’t afraid to engage your child in a healthy mix of compassion and affection (so critical for toddlers), discipline, and individualized teaching.
We briefly enrolled our daughter at the Reston Montessori School, again right before her second birthday, but found that school to have a cold and institutionalized environment, with owners and staff that match that setting. There, you truly are a number and are lucky to even get a hello from the teachers and staff.
So — I recommend CMS without reservation. What a great start for our daughter, and a excellent example of engaged, enthusiastic, and trained teachers and staff.
