I love Origins products, and I appreciate how helpful the employees can be. However, no matter which location I visit I find that the sales staff can be a bit pushy. I tend to be a loaner shopper, happy to browse on my own without a lot of attention. I’m sure they are just doing their jobs, but I find it is uncomfortable to be in such a small store simply wanting to look around when a staff person is also following me around offering to show and explain products without my prompting. Again, they are always nice and knowledgeable, but I found that I started to avoid going into the store simply to avoid several sales pitches.

I found the staff at this particular Origins to be extremely rude. I was completely ignored even though I asked for assistance. Staff continued to attend to other customers including others that entered the store after me. After i asked for help again and was brushes off, I decided to leave. This is the second time I’ve received poor customer service at this location. I do love Origin products, but I have had better luck at Sephora.

I strongly recommend the Plantidote line as will the staff once you get to know them. I prefer visiting the Reston location to online purchasing.

I agree that Origins is like crack. I fell for it about a few months ago and keep buying more of more of their products. Their products are organic and high quality. The sales staff at this store location are very knowledgeable and friendly. They will listen and help you with your concerns for your skin. They will give you suggestions and explain why you might want to consider a few products. It was nice to walk in this store and not have to feel the pressure of the RTC high social status. Be sure to get hooked up with some samples before you walk out. :)

Origins makes crack. Origins sells crack. Origins isn’t tested in animals, the crack is reserved solely for humans. Origins is in the crack business. Here’s why. 1) They give out free samples. The first dollop of crack is free, then you gotta pay for it. 2) Insanely small sizes, insanely high prices. Yes, the wife tells me other cosmetics lines are WAY more expensive. I don’t see how that’s possible. 3) Pushers. Very friendly sales chicks. You gotta try this. You need that. Check out our combo pack of 5 different types of crack for just the price of 3! 4) Elusive crack. This crack isn’t sold everywhere, you have to seek it out. Now that Hects/Macys is one, it’s not in all of their stores anymore. 5) Scrape the barrel. This crack isn’t wasted. When the canister, jar, tube or bottle is empty, it’s EMPTY. At the crack molecule level it’s empty. Dogs don’t lick their bowls this clean. Okay, so *I* give it 5 stars, but that’s because it makes my wife happy. By happy, I mean soft skin, moist skin, no wrinkles, smells good, et al. I can’t argue with that. I’m along for the ride. I pride myself on rough hands, chapped lips, coarse elbows, cuz, dammit, that’s what men have. The only time«Metro» applies to me is when I’m on the subway. There’s a cream, paste, balm or lotion for just about everything imaginable. There’s face cream, there’s face cleanser, there’s eye cream(beware tiny canisters in tiny packages with big price tags!), there’s pore scrub, there’s anti-wrinkle cream, there’s probably even something to make your earlobes softer. Oh yeah, just in case you MIGHT forget about where you got your crack, sign up for their mailing list and they send you coupons, sales, %‘s off, and special invitations to come in, before the rest of the un-addicted masses, and try the newest forms of crack, just waiting to be smoke[Backspace][Backspace][Backspace][Backspace][Backspace]applied. Guys — if yer chick really digs her skin, and wants to keep it in good shape, and she hasn’t heard of this stuff, give her a treat. She might thank you.

I’m so moist. The saleslady here put a scentless blob of white goo in my hands, and now I’m –still– moist. After grabbing some apps around the corner with Vixen, we were heading in the direction of Edibles Incredible so she could snag some of their vaunted cupcakes before heading out west… and on the way, we passed the open doors of Origins. I, constantly battling dry skin all winter, suggested that we stop by to see if they had anything that might be good to protect my hands… so in we went. The lady who helped us out was very nice, if a little pushy. I don’t think she was meaning to be super sales-y, but moreso just culturally inclined to push a product that she thought was appropriate for my need. Which is fine. I ended up being pretty impressed with how well it lubricated my digits(and continued to lubricate them well after application). Although pricey, this stuff definitely works. And their company’s mission(presuming that they actually follow it) is one that I can stand behind. Yay for moisturizing skin products!

If you want natural cosmetics without chemical additives, Origins is a reliable source. They recently added a more expensive line, Dr. Weil’s specially formulated creams, lotions, serums and Japanese bath salts(scented with eucalyptus). You can also find Benefits’ soothing sprays and handmade soaps which when given as gifts, exude wellness wishes. The shop itself sets a relaxing tone. Beautifully finished light wood cabinetry is illuminated by delicate pendant lighting fixtures. As a first time shopper, I appreciated having a sales person who was knowledgeable. The shop is located on the main town street, a short walk from free garage parking.
