great location in reston town center! the salon is super nice, organized and has the most friendliest atmosphere!
I see stylist Lindsey G. (check her work on Instagram on #lindseyg) and she is THE BEST! she never disappoints & listens to what you’re trying to achieve. she is great at mixing the best color to suit your needs and tone of skin to compliment you very well! Lindsey is also so sweet and full of laughter and great conversation.
the staff is also so nice & accommodating as well!

I usually give good reviews. But this is just too much.
I love my layered & structured shoulder length hair.
And thanks to the girl in the salon, it got CHOPPED into a STRAIGHT line around my head.
I feel like someone put a ramen bowl on my head and just cut along the line.
Asked the girl to put more layers, more thinning. She couldn’t bring it to the same style I had before.
Will have to wait for 2 or 3 more months to fix this thing. But I’m not coming back anymore. Nope…

Inhye was fantastic. Super nice, listens really well, makes excellent suggestions and shows you exactly how she’s using product. Gave me a great cut that was exactly what I wanted. You can tell she’s one of the best cutting pros — didn’t try to razor my hair, thank goodness. This will be my new regular stylist and salon.

Blossom is amazing! She did such a great job and really tailored to my needs. I recommend everyone to her! She is by far the best stylist in the metro DC area. Go see blossom!

After my hairdresser of 10 years moved halfway across the country, I was on the prowl. I tried a few different places and faces before I went back to PR at Partners in Reston. I was a customer there quite a few years ago, and I moved away from the area several years ago. In desperation, I decided to go back to ‘the last place I remember being really happy with my hairstyle,’ even though my former stylist is no longer there. What I found: the reception personnel have improved greatly (Yay!); the physical location (of the salon) had changed; and the shampooing station and protocol is completely different from when I was here years ago, but the service I received was again, extremely satisfactory.
My stylist this time was Aja. She was phenomenal. She looked at the pictures I brought with me and asked probing questions about each. She told me what she thought would work and what likely would not. She was polite, courteous, respectful, and professional. Best of all, she knew what she was doing and she conquered my overwhelming ‘what do I do now’ frustration of looking for a talented and trustworthy stylist.
The cons: 1– PR at Partners Reston tends to be a bit pricey (however, that said, prices have not dramatically increased over many years now); 2 — You need to remember to bring enough cash to cover tips as the salon is not set up to add this to your total bill (Ergo I hadn’t brought enough to cover everyone — stylist and shampooer — at 20%…see #1)

I was looking for a new place after moving to Reston and had heard great things about PR. I made an appointment, arrived 15 minutes early as instructed, and waited a half an hour before anyone approached me and then was told the stylist was running 20 minutes late. So, I left. What a disappointment.

After having a disappointing experience the first time around the owner/​manager of the salon recommend me to try Laura… I am sooooo satisfied by her stunning work! She literally brought my hair back to life. After feeling my hair and seeing the choppy cut I had… she gave me the most amazing layers & touched up my highlights so it all flowed together! She has the «special touch» and vision! I will definitely be coming back to her from now on to get my hair cut! I left her chair feeling confident and happy! Thank you once again to the manager and Laura you guys met my expectations! It was worth the second trip!

Laura has a great eye for color, if your looking for a change or a new look… highlights, balayage or all over color go and see Laura. I’m very happy with my hair and the change. She has always been on time for my appts and is very friendly and out going.

Rayhana took my hair from overly damaged and processed to a beautiful golden blonde. She also recommended me some hair products to aid in repairing my hair, and to help it look healthy. I used to be a salon hopper, that would bounce from one salon to the other, in an attempt to find a hairstylist who could give me the result that I wanted with my hair. I can finally say that my salon hopping days are over.

Everyone here seems very friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve been twice now (First in October, and then again last night) to see Ray for balayage — she is AMAZING and definitely knows what she is doing. She has great style and makes me feel like she would never steer me wrong (and she hasn’t!). I trust her 100% with my hair. Yes, it might be a tad pricey, but I don’t mind paying a little extra knowing for certain I am going to leave LOVING my hair. Stop shopping around, just go to PR and book with Ray. You won’t regret it.

My first time here and I’ll definitely be coming back. Got a blow dry and my hair styled by Tory. She did a great job, she took an idea of what I wanted to get done and did it very well. She was very friendly too. Nice experience overall.

Let me tell you something — for me to leave a salon and LOVE my hair, it takes work. I’m so happy I have met Hannah and let her work her magic on my hair. She’s super fun and makes you feel at ease the whole time!
I was weary of changing my hair color before my wedding in March but I am SO happy I did! I’m so pleased that I’m actually going to have another service done before my big day. I truly feel beautiful and my hair is bangin’ thanks to Hannah!

I’ve seen Laura twice now for balayage color and 2 cuts. She always listens to my needs and makes thoughtful suggestions. I’ve had my hair hacked up at both hair cuttery and nicer salons in the past… she’s the only one I trust with my hair now!

After moving to NoVa from the Deep South I was on a search for a new stylist to trust with my hair. I have had my share of trips to The Chair and walked away wondering wtf I just paid for. Anyway, I was wandering around Reston Town Center and saw this place and checked them out on Unilocal.I liked what I saw here so I checked out the website. The website is helpful because they had a section describing each stylist and their photo. I REALLY liked that if you hovered above the photos it shows you how many people «liked» that stylist.
I wanted my hair re-​layered and the balayage redone so I was torn between choosing Aja and Inhye. I saw that the salon and some of their stylists had Instagrams so I took my investigation to another social media platform.
I chose Inhye (pronounced «Inn-​hey») and I’m thrilled I did. She listened AND HEARD me when I said I wanted to keep my length but would be happy to sacrifice length if it was really damaged. She explained what steps we would take to keep my length while re-​shaping the layers and where the balayage would begin/​melt. The communication of what would happen to my hair was a relief (nothing is more upsetting than telling your best friend with scissors that you only want a trim and when you leave you see mounds of your hair at your feet).
My appointment was at 5pm and I didn’t leave until 7:45pm. Inhye was thorough and intent on making sure I was happy with the results. She gave me pointers on things I never knew about or read in magazines. I got some recommendations on products to try WHEN I FINISH my current products. I loved that she used a few products on my hair and explained why they were beneficial for MY hair and how to use them. She asked what my typical routine is from washing my hair to styling it and gave me tips based on how I live. I don’t have time (read: I don’t make time) to spend hours on my hair so having my hair styled easily while still looking good is crucial for me. Inhye gets me and for that she’s keeping a new client.

Hannah is my girl!!! Never have I left a salon with my hair not only looking exactly how I wanted it, but even better! Especially after a drastic chop like I did the first time I visited. Hannah worked her magic and made my Taylor Swift-​esque curly bob happen –plus after some fabulous baylage highlights (because why not) I felt like a million bucks.
I am no longer a serial salon hopper and have found my home– and being right down the street from my office is a huge perk! Can’t wait to go back!

I am gratefully giving two stars because the stylist are skillful and understand their clients needs. In fact I have utilized two different stylist and both were amazing!
However, the lack of the other 3 stars is for the consistent poor quality in front desk service. I have been going to the salon for just over a year and will be switching because I can’t stand the inability to properly book and verify appointments.
My first issue was in the fall. They called November 4^th or so saying I had missed my «confirmed» appointment, and that they could reschedule the appointment with a miss cancelation fee. I kindly told them there was no way I missed a «confirmed» appointment as I never received a phone call to confirm my appointment. If I had I would have canceled it, because I had a death in the family November 1^st and I wouldn’t have been able to make the appointment. I told her that I’m sorry but I didn’t receive a call and there was noway I could of missed a confirmed appointment. I said I had a death and I may have forgotten the appointment but if I had received a call to confirm I would have known to cancel so I am sorry but there is no way I missed a confirmed appointment. She said well there is a fee, she was so rude about the whole thing.
Long story trying to be made shorter… I still am a client. I made an appointment in February for mid-​June with a stylist whom was taking an extended break. In between I used a different stylist, which i saw mid-​April, I enjoyed her work so I told her I see her again in 8 weeks or so. I also told the front desk to cancel my mid-​June appointment with the stylist on extended leave. I made one appointment for mid-​June with the new stylist.
So tell me how I get a confirmation text mid-​may confirming an appointment with the new stylist? It was not even 4 weeks since I been in? I said no, and said should have one in June. The front desk said oh you don’t have one in June. I said well lets do so, since I thought I already had with the new stylist.
So tell me how I get a confirmation text for mid-​June confirming an appointment with the stylist on extended leave?! Really how hard is it to manage an appointment book? I call again, and asked when is my next appointment the front desk list both appointments which are within a week of each other!!! I said does that make sense?
Seriously, love the stylist can’t stand the lack of common sense from the front desk.

This was my first time here. Aja is AWESOME! Based on a friend’s recommendation I went directly to her. I cut off over 20″ of hair and wanted a sleek low maintenance, but rockerish bob ala Katie Holmes/​Kelly Ripa/​Charlize Theron. After a 15 min consultation where we talked about what I wanted and showed some pix, she got exactly what I wanted and even added a little rocker professional flair to it.
I don’t normally do anything to my hair ie wash and air dry it is about it. She really understood me and the fact that I don’t like to do anything extra to my hair ie styling. The end hairstyle and her tips really emphasized how much she got me and she showed me how to do just a quick hairspray and finger scrunching to give it that something extra every day. HIGHLY recommend her!
The hairwasher was new so I’ll somewhat forgive her. I wished she was able to raise my chair so I didn’t have to awkwardly slouch (I’m 5’4″, not tall) to fit into the hair washing station and lean back. Also, she was attentive at shielding one ear from the water spray but not the other. I had to flinch and dodge the spray hoping it didn’t go in my ear.
**IMPORTANT TIP** — I wish they said on the phone or website that they only accept CASH ONLY tips. I’m used to putting tips on credit card and don’t normally carry cash. I was definitely embarrassed and worried when I walked in and saw the CASH ONLY policy. Also, if you’re a first time customer there’s a $ 10 off coupon on Unilocal

Reservation setup for 6:45. Arrived 5 minute early and told they were running 20 minutes late. Then told they could not cut my hair. They close at 9pm, so they could not solve this problem is 2 plus hours. No idea how you can trust any reservation from this place

The receptionist have taken a complete 180 outlook on how to treat the clients! I am happy to that I stuck with PR at Partners (mainly due to Aja & Ray’s excellent work) because I couldn’t be more happy with a salon! :)

Thank goodness for Aja and her hair sorcery! I had originally planned on seeing Aja when I first moved to Virginia. Unfortunately, the weather was awful the day I was supposed to see her so I had to cancel. She didn’t have any openings for a long time after my cancellation so I went to Bubbles in Herndon by the Harris Teeter to get my blue hair color redyed. The woman I saw at Bubbles didn’t even bleach my hair and somehow managed to DESTROY the hair I worked so hard to keep healthy. It was literally breaking off! How somebody can destroy hair with blue Pravana dye, I do not know… But my hair was awful after that.
After the Bubbles fiasco, I decided to wait to see Aja no matter how long the wait. Thank goodness I did. It’s been a process trying to get my hair healthy again, but she has done wonders to make it better. She’s great at working with delicate hair AND fun colors. I’m a fan of wild colors and my hair is very delicate, so somebody like Aja is a godsend.
If you’re looking for a bad ass hair colorist and stylist, Aja is your gal. The only reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars is that it can be pricey for those if us who aren’t wealthy. I’d rather pay more for a great stylist and keep my hair healthy though!
