Rover.com – Dog Boarding & Sitting

Pet boarding through rover was a god send. It’s a relief to have this service available, all the worry of leaving my pet was put to ease with the background check and insurance.

After touring several local kennels, I did not feel comfortable leaving my dog at any of them for an extended period of time. It seemed too close to the shelter/​pound atmosphere that I had just rescued her from. I am so glad that I found
and the wonderful petsitter that I did. We had a fifteen minute meet and greet at their house before confirming the stay. It went great and I was thrilled that my dog would spend our time apart in a safe, friendly and fun home atmosphere with two other dogs to keep her company. I was able to relax on my vacation and she was able to enjoy her time with her new friends! The best part of her staying in someone’s home, was that she did not pick up any bad habits, no illnesses or new insecurity issues. I knew she was safe and well cared for. I was sent several pictures of her and her daily activities while away. I will use the petsitter I found on
for all of our pet sitting needs!

I used
to book a last minute week-​long drop-​in visit for two dogs. The dog sitters were very quick to reply and I was able to find someone to drop-​in twice a day for a week to walk and play with my dogs while I was out of town. I received daily pictures and updates so my mind was at ease while I was away.

I’m writing this review of Rover from a pet sitter perspective! I started my business with Rover as a means to explore various breeds of dogs as I was thinking about adoption. I got hooked and instead of adopting I advertised more by placing business cards at various vets offices, getting into Google Business and keepin my rates low. I never anticipated making a substantial amount of money from it and most months it was just nice gas money. The holidays however were awesome and not only was my house never lonely but gifts and meals were paid. I’ve made long lasting friends with a few of the families I sit for. I’ve even become an «aunt» for one of my furry clients. Presently I’m renting so my status is set to away but I look forward to when I can sit again! The customer service team at Rover is amazing and they cover all the bases and any questions myself or my clients have. I also like that I can donate portions of my rover earnings to charities of my choosing (from their extensive list). I’d recommend Rover before going through an overpriced doggy «spa». Research and meet your sitter first and make sure their personality is compatible with your pup! Wouldn’t you rather have your dog in an actual home, being treated like family than kenneled in between sea weed wraps and «gourmet» $$ dog treats? Rover is the best. Hands down!

I used
for the first time last week for dog sitting kind of at the last minute and I am extremely surprised by how awesome this service is. I will never take our dog to a boarding facility again! The dog sitters are so much more flexible than a boarding place, he doesn’t have to be caged the whole time we are gone, he gets personal attention from the people I choose (which I would choose a family because that’s what my dog is used to), I also get pictures while I am gone to show the kids, AND it’s significantly less expensive! Did you get that part? It’s more flexible, personal, AND CHEAPER! I still can’t believe it! We used the same dog sitter again this week and will never look back! Highly recommended!

I was looking for another pet sitting place for our dog as we were not happy with Petsmart’s Petshotel. I googled pet sitting and came across
. I was a bit skeptical at first but we had such a wonderful first experience with our pet sitter Joshua, that we will either use him again or if he is not available, another Rover sitter in our area! Rover makes it easy to sign up and find a sitter. I highly recommend it!

This was my first time using any pet sitting service since we usually leave our crazy dog with family or friends. But, for my wedding, they were all going to be out of town with us!
The service worked out perfectly. I was able to search for a sitter who would watch my dog at their house but they themselves did not have a dog (my dog is a rescue and was poorly socialized). I found someone easily and it worked out great!

I used Rover this month for a week long trip. I used Ebony, who lived very close by and had two small dogs of her own. She agreed to a «meet n greet» prior to the stay to ensure our pups got along, and the rest of the time was easy!
I obviously can only speak for the one sitter, but it was a great experience. Very easy,
walks you both through the process and everything is done online. Ebony sent me pictures everyday, multiple times actually, and reported on Jo (my dog) consistently. Once the stay was over,
paid her through the money I had already paid to the site so I didn’t have to worry about anything other than reuniting with my Jo.
I will definitely be using
again, even set up a future date with Ebony. I’m so happy to have found an alternative to boarding. DC is expensive! This way, I am able to find cheaper costs for me, and someone who will interact and have for Jo. So much better than a kennel. I strongly suggest using this service.
