Awesome combination place here has the feel of haymarket with a deli alongside. They have so much stuff awesome to walk around and take a look at what they have. Fruits and veggies galore! The deli side is super cool wicked Italian so all your Italian deli is there, also meats to order. Super cool place they make any kind of sub you want. Really delicious and big so super filling, just go and check it out.

Old school, reminds me of my grandfather’s old fruit store in the north end. They sell classic Italian groceries as well as fresh produce, deli items and prepared foods. Sandwiches are the best around, everything is fresh and sliced to order so it may take a few minutes especially if you have a few people in front of you. And FYI they have Richardson’s ice cream tubs in the freezer

The best italian sub you will ever have in your life! Also, the ripest avocados for instantly great guacamole. Their arancini balls are massive and delicious too! The lines are crowded at times so be prepared to stand there salivating.

Fantastic stop for sandwiches, produce and Italian imports/favorites to takeaway to Revere Beach or wherever you’re headed next. This store evokes an authentic Italian grocer, with a plentiful menu and an abundance of bagged pasta selections. Olives, jumbo pickles, stinky cheeses, aw, come and get ‘em. A cool little stop for foodies, and a practical stop for everyone in need of a little taste of Italy, in both feel and flavor. Buon appetito!

The special spicy Italian sub is not spicy enough for me but it’s still delicious. Chicken parm. my hubby said it was a good sub! The subs are big you eat 2meals w/it lunch & dinner.

One of my good friends introduced me to this place! Very good subs. The Neapolitan was worth the drive to Revere! They also have a great selection of pasta. This place is great during lunch or bring a few subs home and feed the family. I am shocked this place isn’t in the north end? I have to try the stuff pepper next time.

The sausage and broccoli rabe was a major disappointment: the sausage wasn’t anything special at all and the rabe was murdered, unblanched, and unseasoned. The bread ended up being completely soggy in the 15 minutes it took me to get home, as well. On the other hand, the Top Shelf was quite delicious. One of the better Italians I’ve had in awhile, as the cold cuts were quite premium in quality and the hots were delicious — they were either homemade or from some imported company that I’ve never had before. That being said, the bread simply didn’t stand up to the fixins.

About a month ago I wrote a review of New Deal based on a very very rude and negative experience I had there. I thought Unilocal was all about public information on an open forum but apparently it is not because my review was taken down and I think it was highly relevant. I went into New Deal at 7:45pm on a Friday evening– yes I am well aware that they close at 8. It shouldn’t take anyone 15 minutes to make a sandwich containing 3 ingredients. Tomato, Fresh Mozzarella and Basil on a roll. I was turned away because«we close in 15 minutes and all we have are Italian Subs.» I said that I love Italian subs but sadly am pregnant and can not eat one. There was nothing they could do and refused my order. I have been going to New Deal for YEARS but this type of treatment deserves a review. I’d appreciate it not being taken down this time.

The absolute best Italian sun on the area!!! The only reason that I am not giving the fifth star is due to the hours, they close early so it is challenging to get there in time to pick up dinner. The customer service is always great and the products are all super fresh and affordable. A true gem!

This place was fantastic and a great find after a hard day of basking in the sun at Nahant. The Special Italian hit the spot, although it’s «frowned upon» to order it with mayo :) I will definitely come back to not only get another grinder but to also do a little shopping… great selection of Italian foods.

NewDeal is an experience. The guys behind the counter are crass, insulting and constantly act like they could use a Prozac! It’s a show! You had better scan their menu before going in and know exactly what you want. Indecision isn’t tolerated here. But what you get is well worth the abuse(think of the waitresses at Durgin Park). Their subs are fantastic. Overloaded with meat(are you listening Subway?), great bread, and totally tasty. They get it right. The cold cuts aren’t sitting around for hours, drying out while waiting to be put in a sandwich. Everything is sliced fresh, and it tastes it. The top shelf is my favorite. It has to be the best Italian sub anywhere. If you go in with the right attitude, don’t take the chatter personally, you’ll enjoy one of the best subs ever. But, whatever you do, don’t buy the fruit. It’s not anywhere as good as the subs.

New Deal subs are delicious. I love the pastrami sandwich they make or the specials, so good. Favorite part of visiting my parents is making an excuse to order New Deal for lunch. I’ve never bought produce here so the whole grocery part is a foreign entity to me.

Great food, friendly service, convenient and fresh produce options! Get a sub though and try something new. You won’t be disappointed!

I recently attended an event(it was a post-funeral gathering) that New Deal catered… I can’t give enough praise for two things, the compassion of their owner(private story), and more importantly, for reviewing purposes, how incredible the meatballs were! I’ve never seen a tray of food vanish so quickly! Food like this makes me wish I lived in Revere!

I love this place. Most of the time their fruits and veggies are ready to eat. What I mean by this is, you don’t have to buy a peach and then set it on the counter for a week before you can eat it. I love this. But in response to the negative review, that does mean that there is an occasional rotten spot on a few fruit in the pile. I have Never ever seen it so that all. Or even most, are rotten. It depends on the time and day you go, but sometimes you can get gigantic veggies too. I have seen tomatoes bigger than a softball and zucchini longer and thicker than an 8 year old’s arm. But just like my previous paragraph, this is not true for every time that you go. Their sale prices are often unbeatable in the summer. I have not yet had any sandwiches from them, but I do hear good things so perhaps it will not be too much longer before I take one home with me for lunch.

What can I say, this is the quintessential Italian market and deli, everything is fresh and is high quality, their prices are reasonable. I’ve bought a few groceries here, and everything has been excellent, but the true standout is their deli and sandwiches, made to order. By far, my favorite is the double play, they take a sub roll, fill it with a traditional north shore roast beef three-way, then add fresh chicken cutlet to the top. Its delicious, its huge, and its almost too much for one meal, you better be hungry when you order, you do get your moneys worth!

I am regular for their huge packed subs, deli and produce. But the ass with the tattos on his face in the deli has a lot to learn about servicing a customer. Gave me a hard time because i corrected him for not giving me the amount i asked for. This was a big disappointment for the usual good service given at this establishment. Do yourself a favor and get rid of him! He might insult more of your clients!

First off it’s not just fruit it’s also a deli. Sadly I’ve been in Revere for three years and am just finally finding this gem. Their deli is top notch, The Boston Slugger I believe it is called was the best steak sandwich I’ve had anywhere north of Boston. It’s a half pound of stead, a half pound of pastrami and of course cheese as well. It was about $ 10 but well worth it. Also anyone who has had a Kelly’s Roast Beef, this place sells the bbq sauce at it’s deli. It’s called James River BBQ Sauce. It’s the only reason I went in there but from my experience at the deli, I’ll definitely be back for the sandwiches, the deli and the produce. Also, I haven’t had them yet, but I’m told the steak tips are amazing.

My audit team and I just went here for lunch and got subs — eggplant parm, chicken parm, and pastrami. We can’t stop talking about how fucking great they are minus the fact that they’re huge and are going to put us to sleep. They were only like $ 7 each too. I’m giving them 4 stars rather than 5 because the cashier attempted to hit on me by telling me I looked like a zombie. Relax buddy, if you were an auditor you’d look like a zombie too.
