Just delicious! Good prices for being beachside. And they swirled my soft serve perfectly for a good Instagram :)

For a rundown area, this ice cream store is a gem. It has a very wide selection of Richardson ice cream and many flavors of frozen yogurt(scoop, not soft serve), which they are happy to let you sample, and portions are very generous. If you are looking for ice cream in the area, definitely come here!

So many flavors, and they really cover it in sprinkles, jimmys, or nerds. I mean they lay the cone in and twist it in the bucket of toppings. Not sure what they do with the cups, but it’s just as much toppings. You can try however many flavors you want.

This place is a total delight. Huge portions, lots and lots of flavors, and plenty of topping options. Trust, these kids are not stingy with any of the ingredients. There’s not much to say that hasn’t been said – it’s a great ice cream place. If you’re having a day at the beach, you can’t beat Twist & Shake. It gets pretty busy on sunny days, but that’s to be expected.

The portions are big. Ice-cream, frozen yogurt, Italian ice, whatever you choose, you’re sure to fall in love with the taste and the care that goes into each cup or cone. During the fall and winter, I bring my family to the shop in Winthrop and in the hot summers, we visit the beach-side. Everyone is happy to help with a smile and they move the(sometimes) lengthy lines right along with very little wait time. Prices are also very affordable. Definitely five stars!

The cotton candy is killer. They use local ice cream, so they’re not shoveling grocery store ice cream at you. This place is highly recommended.

Favorite place for ice cream, however I haven’t been ordering cookie dough because it’s been 90% dough and 10% ice cream which is disappointing.

Excellent ice cream! They really did it well! Really good service too! I had a great time in the outdoor seating.

I know that Twist & Shake is primarily an ice cream/frozen yogurt shop, but can we talk about their hot dogs for a second? Because I’ve never had a better hot dog in my entire life. My fiancé grabbed two for us when we were spending a day at the beach and I was so surprised by the quality of the hot dog that I wanted another one — I just didn’t feel like going back to get it. However, the next time I’m in Revere, I’m definitely hitting this spot before the beach for a hot dog, and then after to try some of their undoubtedly delicious ice cream. Prices were also better than I was expecting for a place like this! Looking forward to my next trip here.

Rarely do I have a craving for ice cream, but on a hot 80+ degree weather day, this sort of thing is an absolute no-brainer. I find their ice cream to be too sweet with little flavor. Tried the blackberry one, which again was too sweet and didn’t taste at all like the name. I then proceeded to order the Orange Freeze, which was so awful that I threw it away upon leaving! This is your typical low-quality, commercial ice cream shop that is more of a tourist get-up than a quality establishment. Very disappointing…

Classic seaside ice cream joint with a million delicious options(ice cream, froyo, soft serve, frappes, sundaes, slush, toppings galore, etc). Had myself a 1 scoop Snickers(Richardson’s brand, so you know it’s high quality) with rainbow jimmies, and was totally satisfied. Portions are huge, service is wicked friendly and also informative– did you know two types of chocolate jimmies exist? I worked in an ice cream shop for years and I had no idea(one is thinner and is real chocolate, the other thicker and sugar-based). Our server offered to use both on the boy’s giant 2 scoop cup of Peanut Butter Cup, one on the bottom and one on the top, so we could try a bit of each… now that’s service. Thanks, Twist & Shake!

Best ice cream around! but this location is so small and crowded that sometimes it makes me not want the ice cream anymore.

Nothing beats ice cream after a day at the beach. Or soft serve… Or frozen yogurt… And if you can’t decide between those, you’re in luck, because Twist & Shake has all three(not to mention the sundaes, milkshakes, and banana splits that they also offer). Portion sizes are enormous. Even a small cup of soft serve is big enough to share, and reasonably priced, too. But good luck deciding what you want to order. The list of soft serve, hard serve, and fro yo flavors is seemingly endless. You’re likely to have to wait in line for a while in order to enjoy some of Twist & Shake’s creamy goodness. Chances are if the beach is crowded, this place will be too!

Yeah I’m a fan of this place. Kinda small and hectic with the whole beach crowd swarming the place to get there fix but well worth it. I got the turtle tracks and coconut ice cream in a waffle cone. I don’t eat a lot of ice cream but the last time I went to Toscanini in Cambridge and paid almost the same price for this rinky dink cup. T&S gave me a monster cone that was pretty much a meal and both flavors were out of this world. My new go to ice cream shop if I’m within a 3 mile radius.

The soft serve here is delicious and huge! It’s as big as my head. You can also get more than one flavor per cone. The pistachio and black raspberry together is good.

Twist & Shake is an old school ice cream parlor at its finest, and I think the fact that it hasn’t tried to become hip like many of the Boston area«ice creameries» makes me like it all the more. I’m not gonna pretend the ice cream at Twist & Shake is on par with that of other Boston area favorites such as Christina’s, Toscanini’s, or J.P. Licks in terms of complexity or depth of flavor, but the fact that you can get a banana split the size of a baby elephant there for the price of a small one topping sundae at Tosci’s is enough reason to go there every time you visit Revere Beach. Although pretty standard, the ice cream certainly hits the spot, ESPECIALLY when buried beneath a layer of peanut butter sauce, coconut flakes, whipped cream, and crunchy pieces of God only knows what. Mmm, that’s what summer’s all about.

I’ll make this short and sweet, much like my stop at Twist & Shake. I stopped in for some ice cream and although I was overwhelmed with tons of options, I quickly ordered, received fast and friendly service, and went on my way. Prices seemed to be in line with ice cream chains.

we came in because it’s just right across the street from the beach… and the name just grabbed my attention right away! twist and shake! who doesn’t like ice cream and how bad really can ice cream go wrong? both soft serve(i had vanilla and chocolate mix — glad taht i didn’t try other flavors after reading others’ review — me no syrup!) and ice cream are both pretty good. staffs were fun!
