Great Northwest Cabins

Lovely home with room for a crowd, just not for us. The setting is suburban and very crowded. Loud neighbors kept us up late and woke us up early. A local dog took his daily walk through the yard/​barbecue/​parking area and barked at us making us feel unsafe on the tiny porch. The lack of comfortable space outdoors was a huge drawback for us.
If you’re looking for a place to sleep at night, this will do just don’t come expecting a relaxing time communing with nature.

The Mountain View cabin has a nice view of the mountains and is very clean, well maintained and is close to Packwood, which is convenient. There is also Wi-​Fi and a land line, which is handy if your cell is out of range. Our pet was allowed to stay free of charge and the occasional elk is seen.
But there are a few points on which I must also say that I agree with the reviewer from Seattle. This cabin is also in a neighborhood setting (this cabin is on a clear cut lot so a close neighbor is in plain view) and there is the possibility of many additional fees (including a $ 25 fee if the pot and pans aren’t washed and put away and the dishwasher started. You are also requested to strip all beds and start a load of laundry). There is a hi-​def TV but the cable signal is standard, so the picture isn’t sharp. All of the above add up to a good experience, but not a great one. (PLEASE read update below)
UPDATE: After leaving a review very similar to this on VRBO site where I rented the cabin, I was contacted by the owner who wanted me to explain my rating, as he thought 3 star review was not justified and asked me to reconsider. I replied, stating in so many words that my review was a truthful and honest one.
The owner couldn’t accept this and replied again, this time with a VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and unacceptable email as he took it to a personal and sarcastic level by stating that in 10 years no one had ever «picked apart» the cabin like I had and that «99.9%» of his guest «love the view and setting» and «We are not happy about the review and hope you enjoy the other cabins you used to stay in in Packwood that are not clearcut.»
I would like to amend my review to say in the end this added up to a VERY unpleasant experience and am now lowering my rating (originally 3 stars) to 1 star, do to comments made on a personal level by a VERY unprofessional owner.
