Hertz Rent A Car

I had a rental at 10AM and was unable to make it until 10:50 and was told my car was rented out. I was given no notification and the employee working at his desk was very rude. He didn’t offer any alternative besides waiting until maybe a car would be returned at some point. The employee had a terrible attitude and guaranteed that I will never give any business to this location in the future. Unfortunately, his rudeness pissed me off and I didn’t get his name otherwise it would be included in this review. I would give 0 stars for customer service if I could.

I am assuming this is the 233 N Central Expressway location now??? Hertz was the best rental process that I’ve had. Everything is all good until it’s time to return the car.
I called ahead of time to see if I needed to clean or refill the gas. THE REP SAID NO TO BOTH. Here I am 2 days later with a charge of $ 47.86 for gas… (did I sign up for that? Possibly) Either way, I WASN’T told at check out that I would be charged for gas. AND they tried to say I would have to pay $ 50 to clean it. ((Bitch BYE))
Lack of knowledge on both our parts caused me pain. I hope I never have to be in a rental again.

The incident occurred at the Royal location (land rover) in Dallas in 2013. The guy from the Richardson location was working there alongside the regular guy. The guy motioned to the African guy from Richardson location not to rent to me. I let the Richardson guy know I saw the guy shaking his head no. I haven’t been back there since

Thanks Ian for the response. I did end up getting my rental after an hour wait. I was thinking the vehicle wasnt going to arrive, so I was glad at least I didn’t have to walk back home.

Very glad I did not read the previous reviews prior to using this location. I had the pleasure of dealing with Marjorie and, despite some issues with my insurance company (they neglected to set up a direct billing despite the fact they said they did), was very pleased with the service I received. I will agree this location is somewhat dated but they are moving soon to a location a bit north to share with the sales location, which is quite nice. I travel quite a bit and have dealt with the good and the HIDEOUS. All in all was a great service experience.

I would give it 0 if I could. The lady that works there is rude the place is very old and not upgraded the cars were not washed on the outside and everybody seems to have an attitude. Rent from any other place possible any other agency don’t go here you won’t be happy

I would also like to give 0 stars if that was an option about this location. They charged us for mileage after we brought back the rental — which was not discussed at the time of reservation. When I discussed the matter with the branch manager, he said we’re responsible regardless. What’s the point of a car rental then if we’re having to track mileage?! With that said, DO NOT RENT from here!

Today was the first time and more likely the last time i EVER rent a car with you.
Let me explain to you why… today ⁵⁄₁₅ at 7 25 AM i called your reservation desk hotline and got assisted by your india reservation desk to change my reservation pick up from 5 pm today to 1 pm today. i was informed that everything would be ok i would not incur additional charges everything will be just fine and car will be ready.
Fast forward to 1 PM during my LUNCH HR i rushed over to Hertz in Richardson TX @ 318 S. Central Expressway where i was assisted by one of the reps there. I said i have a reservation and im here to pick up. they looked on the printed sheet of paper and showed that i still had my reservation at 5 pm. I said ok well i called this morning and they said it was changed and the lady that assisted me looked in the system and said oh i see it but we dont have any cars until 5 pm and you will have to come back at 5 if you want that car. I asked her what vehicles do you have available and if i can get the free upgrade. She said all i have is a Toyota Camry out there and it will cost you 40 dollar more total and that the best i can do.
In a hurry and needing to get back to work i had no choice but to agree to their terms which i believed was unfair and unreasonable that i had to pay for THEIR mistake.
After obtaining the vehicle and driving it i immediately noticed a check engine light come on. I immediately called the Richardson location once more and informed the gentleman that the check engine light is on and if he knew about it. The gentleman i talked to basically told me «Oh that is fine it happens all the time to all the Camry’s from time to time after XXX amount of mileage the check engine light will come on and go off «I responded in i am driving 8 – 9 hrs to South Texas and i don’t feel comfortable with the Check Engine Light and if there is another vehicle i can get. The gentleman responded to me that all we can do is clear it out for you that is it but all we have now is premium car and you can upgrade to that but i will have to charge you upgrade.
As i was in a time crunch i decided to reject and head to the office where i called the Hertz customer service line where the first time i called i got hung up on immediately and the 2^nd time i got a lady that send the email to the manager of the branch and the counter and the district manager and was told i had to wait 24 hrs for a response. I informed her of the car condition and she advised me i can go to any hertz location and return it as long as fuel is same and that I would have to call the branches to see if they have the car available.
After hanging up the phone i decided to call the DFW Airport branch as i could not get off work fast enough to any local HLE branch. DFW AIRPORT did not even bother to answer the phones and nor the voice mail box seem to be ever checked.
I got frustrated and called the Dallas Love Field airport which got me into a better car and said could not modify my contract and that it would have to be that branch even after i explained my situation.
After work i had to drive nearly 45 min to an hr to the Dallas Love Field location and wait another 30 – 35 min in line to get the car swapped out just to get a mid-​size vehicle a Nissan Versa. I got into the car and immediately smelled like a giant ashtray. Went back and immediately returned it and gotten into an Altima after another 25 min wait in line.
IF this is how Hertz does business and treat their customers I am never coming back anymore do rent cars. I am so furious so upset and irritated with deciding to go with you guys for the better rate than rather go with Enterprise where their employees actually give a damn about their customers ! Again all i really want is to get my upgrade charges waived so i can go on with my vacation with my family without any issues and frustrations and highly doubt that HERTZ will ever earn my business again even after i signed up for your GOLD MEMBER REWARDS program.

If there were 0 stars, I would have been happy to give that. One particular lady was extremely clueless and outright rude when I tried to pose a challenging question which was relevant to her job. When they can’t find an answers or feel cornered, they switch into overdrive defensive mode and pull their claws out ready to attack you. They will give you dirty cars and try to fight you and this happened to me twice but on the second time I got really angry and that’s when this woman figured to go head to head with me because she could not answer basic questions about a rental and why it’s dirty to begin with even after reserving 2 months before. This particular store also tried to overcharge my credit card but thanks goodness I disputed and the charges were reversed by CC company. This is the most pathetic business to patronize but am now happier since moving to Enterprise. Stay away from this place and Hertz for that reason.

This place is a mess, and their employees were unprofessional. They didn’t know what they were doing, and the only person who was able to help was Eric, the manager. I asked for a full size, and they didn’t have a car for me when I went to pick it up, not once but twice. So finally, Eric accommodated me with small SUV for the price of a full size car (the only reason why I’m giving them a 2 stars instead of 1). When I returned the car, they tried to cheat me for my money so I fought with them, again. I asked to talk to Eric (via phone), but John or whatever his face was refused to let me talk to Eric. After threatened him that I’ll call corporate on them, he finally agreed to not charge for the extra fees that I didn’t deserve. Which I did call corporate anyways, to report the issues with this location. They said they’ll have someone to call me back within the next few days about this matter, but it has been a few weeks now and I’ve heard nothing. Also, the car we got was super dirty. Shady business at Hertz.
At the end, they kindna resolved some of the issues, but that came with a lot of frustrations and arguments throughout the whole process. It wasn’t worth the trouble. Never again at this Hertz.

Do not recommend this place to anyone! They picked me up from the body shop I dropped my car off at but that’s where the curtsey ended. I was with another person when we arrived at the rental location, the rep had only one chair at her desk for a customer and made no attempt to retrieve another chair leaving me standing while we filled out paper work. Then she went to get the car and left us waiting while she vacuumed the car out. Something that should have been done when the last customer returned the car.
Then when we got in the car it had animal hair all inside of it and smelled like a wet dog! Worst rental experience I’ve ever had! Next time an insurance company refers me to hertz I will not accept!

I am just going to hit some key points of why I DO NOT ADVISE anyone to use this Hertz location;
–Dirt and rocks in the trunk
–Tupperware lid in between seat and console
–Overcharged
–Some kind of disconnect between billing and this location
–Car smelled of stale cigarette smoke
–Most employees were nice, but one in particular (whom I believe is the manager) was probably the least helpful and least polite.
–The whole place comes across old, run down, and unprofessional.
Now I cannot speak for other Hertz locations, but I have been to this one twice and was very unhappy with the car and service both times. I will NEVER be using this location again, and unless they make some major changes I would say stay FAR FAR away.
