Kroger

One of my weekly and sometimes more than weekly spots to shop. I like the prices here and am a fan of some products they carry that are a bit hard to find, like Boars Head meats and cheeses and Nolan Ryan’s Beef.
The store is always clean and this grocery store really does have some of the nicest and most helpful folks around. It is not as modern or up do date as many grocery stores, and even many Kroger stores, but the staff makes up in service for what they lack in atmosphere.
My one «complaint», which is really more of a suggestion for them is to get a better system going where the deli meats are. Sundays are a mess and it is not uncommon to have to wait 20 – 30 minutes to get your lunch meats and cheeses. The staff works hard and tries to keep up, but there are a lot of folks trying to get their sandwich supplies for the week on Sundays. What adds to the frustration is for example yesterday when the two deli counter folks are in the middle of being slammed I looked over to next to them where the other deli workers (hot food items) were and there were four of them standing around visiting, two with sodas in their hands. I come here weekly, there is always a line and NEVER once has a manager of the store come by and helped address the issue. It is a problem spot and managers should solve problems and I am sad to report this problem is not even being worked on.

Never a crowd. Friendly staff. They always have what I’m looking for. Im in and out, lickety split.

Look – I have given Kroger five stars which is two more than I gave just a month ago. The reason — I found a dedicated, honest and efficient cashier and I used that lane to check out my items. Each of the items was in the weekly and and I have to purchase five of each from a special group to get the discounted rice. I carefully put five boxes of cereals together, five bottles of juice in the next area and then I was left with five assorted items, all of which qualify for the lower ad price which was actually $ 1.00 off each of the fifteen items. You won’t believe the accuracy of this casher The time he took to check out each items and he was most pleasant and smiling as he left the area. What you may know by know is that I used self service check out and did the checking myself. This is one positive way you will not get overcharged at Kroger. Think about it you are already doing the work of many employes when you go out. You have to pump your own gasoline, fill your drink cups with soda and in one restaurant they even require me to complete my payment transaction on an automatic machine at my table. So nothing is different. I just work as little mote and check myself out and knowing that the total will be accurate makes me a real winner at Kroger. If I was holding up the line at the check out — -sorry — but Kroger did not train me!

I really had to poop and don’t usually like to go in public bathrooms but when you gotta go you gotta go. I arrived at the restroom and it was very clean and made for a comfortable 10 minutes. Also this is my favorite Kroger because the «all natural» section of the store has more variety than most other Krogers. I love that song that plays also, «The greensheets brings you buyers!!»

I just saw another post about the rude check out clerks. I second that! Also, I noticed comments about the «dirty feel» to the store. I hadn’t thought about that considering that I was busy trying to wrap my mind around the rudeness of the check out clerks & the indifference of the manager. There is no pride to this store anymore. I have been a customer since they opened their doors. There is no customer appreciation or even an attempt to keep loyal customers. I have seen this store go through a few «slumps» over the years, but they were not horrible & were quickly corrected. This store is the worst I have ever seen it. There is a pervading message of «Hurry up, buy your crap, get out & leave us alone!» The manager on Saturday clearly sent the message that he had better things to do than to have to try to solve a customer’s issue. Also, I learned from the website that Kroger no longer provides a convenient email to provide them with feedback. This tells me it’s the entire company that has decided they no longer value their customers.

I’m not really sure why everyone else likes this store. I’ve loved Kroger/​Bakers since I lived in NE but I absolutely hate this particular store. It seems dirty to me, definitely lack of pride, and the cashiers are rude! Have gone three times now and hated every visit. Not going back unless I absolutely have to. I’ll drive farther to avoid this location.

I hadn’t been to this Kroger in approximately 10 years until I stopped in the other day.
I think I even remember when this Kroger opened (there used to be a movie theatre over here, a million years ago).
In high school, I’d come here because their customer service desk was also a Ticketmaster outlet, so I’d rush over from RHS to buy tickets to whatever show I HAD to go to. (PS: it’s not a Ticketmaster outlet anymore)
Anyway. Enough of memory lane.
This visit was… well… Pretty much exactly how I remember it. This is just a regular ol’ Kroger. It hasn’t been updated into a Kroger «Signature» or gotten a makeover. It could probably use one, aesthetically speaking.
The selection, however, is pretty good and prices are in line with a typical Kroger. Most produce looked pretty tasty, and the watermelon I got is DELICIOUS. I’ve got to eat watermelon for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the next four days, but it’s worth it.
The customer service was excellent when I was here. The gal at the deli counter was very nice, customer focused, and sliced the meat and cheese JUST how I like it (which doesn’t sound like a huge feat, but most places don’t slice the meat thin enough, regardless of how much I ask). As with other Krogers, they have Boar’s Head meat/​cheese in the deli. NOM NOM.
The cashier at the checkout was also super friendly. She and I had a good chat while checking out.
Overall, I’ll be back! I do wish they’d update the store though.

The manager at this store claims, in order to purchase alcohol, you must only have a Texas identification card or US passport. LOL! I told him he was completely wrong and that is totally false. Stop wasting my time dumb dumb! I am from Chicago and the clerk did not even know what Illinois was. Below is the Texas link to view state law.
The proof of identification could be a driver’s license or identification card issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety, a United States passport, a military identification card, or any other photo ID issued by a state or the federal government.
So a store, bar or restaurant can sell alcohol to a person with an out-​of-​state driver’s license, military ID, or passport — or with no ID at all. What’s acceptable in any establishment is a matter of that establishment’s private business policies.

I love the location and the employees. They are always helpful and never flinch when I hand them coupons. The one downside is that I WISH they had more organic produce to choose from. Other than that, I have absolutely no complaints about this store. I appreciate that the store is well lit, etc., as well as the fact that they allow our Girl Scout troop to sell cookies there. :-)

My favorite grocery store. I respect everyone who works there. The management is GOOD! Look for Ed. He’s the Senior Executive in charge of Operations and a heck of a nice guy. He’ll be glad to share his wine recommendations with you.

Never a crowd, safer neighborhood than the other Kroger I’m close to, clean, well lit, and good selection. Sweet, what more could you want?
uh, how about a great beer and wine section?! Hell yes.
You can buy 6 bottles of wine and get 10% off your total. Incentive? I think so.
I’ve never had any issues here, and as long as I’m buying just food, this is usually where I come. They cycle through some good sales of frozen food (Lean Cuisine… sigh) and I can stock up for my work lunches.
While picking up a case of beer on a late Friday night was completely normal back in college, I’ve gotten some looks here. Meh, they are probably just wondering where the party is at. :D

I dropped by this location late last week to pick up a few random items and to buy me some State Fair + DART pass tickets (apparently only Krogers can print these this year). I made my way thru the clean and wide aisles, plucking things quickly as I was in a hurry. For the stuff I was buying, this store had a good selection.
My cashier was nice and kept things simple. I had my items and tickets in no time and was on my way. The parking lot was easily accessible and I was able to jump right back on the road without fighting traffic. I don’t shop here on a regular basis, so I can’t speak as to consistency, but I’m glad I stopped in this time around.

I would give them only 4 stars, but their pharmacy is so friendly and nice that I had to bump them up to 5.
Since Richardson dropped their alcohol ban they now also have a sweet alcohol selection too!

I love night time food shopping!
Plenty of carts and baskets, nobody blocking you in the lanes, more time to peruse and compare all the different brands at no rush, no waits at checkout and hot chicks trying to compare and contrast facial creams in the beauty isle.
