Place is decorated well. Actual olive plants in pots are in the front. Service was nice enough. We went at 1pm on a Saturday. We were the only customers the whole time. After we received the food, understood why. Nothing we had was fresh. Most of the food tasted frozen. We all had gyros, chicken, beef, and lamb. All were bland/no flavor, could have interchanged the meats and not been able to tell. The chicken from gyro looked and tasted like plastic. The lentil soup was the only thing we had that had any flavor. Will not be going back. I don’t understand why spend money on decorating nicely and then serve low quality food.

I think this place may be CLOSED. One stops by here and the lights are all off and there are no hours posted, even on a regular business evening such as a Wednesday which is not the best sign. Hmm.

For overall Food, Quality and ambiance, Olive is a real surprise for us. Hummus at its best. Chicken and Beef Kabob Chicken Curry Beef Kibbeh Olive is perfect for specials occasions when you want a great, slightly upscale option that’s a little out of the ordinary.

This was the best Mediterranean meal I’ve ever had, what a gem of a restaurant. I was told that the chef had just started that day, anyway I just hope more people find out where it it because it’s worth the drive. 8÷7÷12

The atmosphere inside was nice. Reasonably well decorated and comfortable. Each table had a real rose in a small glass. The food was merely average. Presentation was great, but the flavors were pretty ambiguous and generic. The grilled quail seemed to have been seasoned with nothing more than black pepper and parsley, so there wasn’t a whole lot of flavor. It was all very fresh though. It’s not a terrible restaurant, but you can get much of what they serve at Dimassi’s buffet nearby.

Non-Arab owned Lebanese restaurant(Columbian I believe): God Bless America. The food was freshly prepared, and tasted as much too. The lamb kebabs were delicious, as were the grilled veggies with a side of Lubbeyah(green beans with tomato). I think they just missed a little on the spices. Pita bread tasted grocery store grade.

Awesome food! Everything is very fresh and if your w/a group the family style dining is a great option. Good atmosphere and service.

This is an unexpected jem. The atmosphere is very chic and cozy. The food was out of this world. We ordered the cheese pita and hummus for starters. The lamb kabob and chicken curry were our entrees. Both were delish, but the chicken curry was addictive! I couldn’t keep my fork out of my friend’s plate. I highly recommend this place!

Dinner on a Saturday night(around 6:00) and this place was quiet. By the time we left, it was dead. Menu had the usual middle eastern suspects with the odd insertion of pasta dishes. My wife had the vegetarian mezza plate: the tabouleh was very fresh, with the parsley predominating. The pita was dry and very thin, almost a flour tortilla. The hummus was thin and unremarkable in flavor. The server offered tahini for the felafel, which we declined, but tzatziki would have been a better choice anyway. I had the salmon, which was covered in a tangy dill sauce. The salmon was cooked the way most restaurants do(too much), but it was complemented nicely by the sauce. The vegetable medley(the usual suspects) was cooked in an unusual way: not steamed, as you so often see it, but cooked in a much more direct and aggressive way: the broccoli and cauliflower were actually browned and a little crunchy. Sautéed, perhaps? Odd, but pretty good. Service is BYOB, which I expected, but what surprised me is that they didn’t offer to open the bottle. Fortunately, I had brought my own corkscrew, but I wonder what would have happened if I hadn’t. The service overall was earnest but not terribly professional. On the other hand, I know from experience that it is hard to get a service rhythm going with one table. I am glad we tried it, but with all the choices around, I don’t know if we will be back.

I have driven past this place a handful of times and thought I should try it. Afterall, Lebanese food is somewhat hard to come by in Dallas. So, we went for a Sunday lunch and the place was eerily quiet and there was only one waiter. Pretty soon there were about 5 tables filled and I thought we’d be waiting for our food for quite some time. I was right! The poor waiter came out to explain that the kitchen was preparing for a party and that our order was delayed because of that. Bummer! At least we were in a comfortable environment– nice setting and décor. I had plenty of time to drool over my menu selections. Unfortunately they were not quite as drool worthy once the finally arrived. Between the table we sampled a variety of things. Here’s the low-down: –Lamb Kabob– juicy and tender, accompanied by lettuce and onion –Hummus– average, had to ask for pita separately –Pita– thin, tasted like store bought –Fried Kibbeh– probably my favorite thing ordered, but still average, and no dipping sauce –Meat Pie– tasted like biscuit dough with hamburger meat on top, very boring –Dolmas, served warm and without much sauce or flavor –Salad– came on Mezza plate, couldn’t really taste any sort of dressing, again, boring –Fried, yellow potatoes– second favor thing, yummy! tasted like home fries Overall, everything tasted pretty average, priced slightly higher than average in shopping strip setting with slow service. Meh!

Olive used to be called the Peace Pipe Café, which is also owned by Nasif. I’ve not actually been inside Olive, but if you order food while at the hookah bar(or an event at House of Poets), this is the kitchen. So far, I haven’t been disappointed by anything I’ve ordered. The new Texas Caesar salad is awesome(not your standard Caesar by a long shot!), hummus, tabbouleh, falafel, kibbeh, kafta, both mezza platters. All delicious.

This place is hard to spot. In a strip center behind an auto parts store. Dropped in for lunch recently and was very pleasantly surprised by both the interior décor and the quality of the food. Waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Lebanese(and Italian) fare on the menu. I had a Khema Kabob with some wonderfully flavored rice and a side of freshly prepared hummus. Very tasty and nicely presented. I was there very early for lunch and was the only customer at the time. I hope they can survive through these early few months until they are discovered. I have not yet been for dinner, and can therefore not comment on their evening meals. Lunch was less than $ 9.00. A real bargain
