Schlotzsky’s Deli

As of 2013÷09÷25, this Schlotzsky’s has been seized by the city due to inability to pay taxes. Both the store and the van have been confiscated.
Now, I for one will be the first to point out that taxation is legal extortion by the government at all levels, so I can empathize if the business owner didn’t or couldn’t pay his taxes on time. But the quality of service, poor environment, and lack of preparation of this establishment, in my opinion, resulted in its downfall, not the inability to pay taxes.
Let’s hope somebody else with much more pride and business sense is willing to take over this Schlotzsky’s location.

An absolute joke of Schlotzky’s. Pricing is terribly nonconsistent with other locations. Quality/​quantity of food is below the standards that other locations have set for me. A kids meal is $ 5.36 as opposed to $ 3.99 most places. It also wasnt even cooked well

Every Schlotzky’s in Richardson is a joke. This one is always out of food. Really? Just shut the store down. The last Schlotzky’s on Beltline had a manager scream at an employee in front of customers until she cried. That store closed. Please move back to Austin guys. We don’t want your crappy service, lack of food, and employees using tables to text friends anymore. What a shame.

I love Schlotzsky’s, buI will never go back to this location. I went there at lunch time to grab a sandwhich. I was surprised that they were out of several kinds of sandwhiches. What? How do you run out? Strange. So anyway, I ordered a small original to go.
When I arrived back to work, I opened my sandwhich and started eating. I took a bite and noticed that there was hardly any meat. I’m not even kidding, three paper thin slices of meat and very few olives. If I wanted a vegi sandwhich I would have ordered one. I payed $ 4.50 for bread, lettuce and one slice of tomatoe. I think there was some cheese in there but all I could taste was bread and mayo.
My co-​workers were also surprised at the three little paper thin slices of meat. I was bummed because I was really looking forward to the Sandwhich.

Schlotzsky’s Deli is one of my favorite spots for Lunch. Their Sandwiches are pretty good, especially if you order them on Sourdough bread. This particular location is a hit or a miss depending on the day you go. There is an older gentleman who provides extremely good service and checks up on you if you need anything.
Overall a quick place to grab a bite and head back to work.

I love Schlotzsky’s. The taste is better than a sub sandwich. Why? I’m not entirely sure. It just is. Perhaps it’s the sourdough bread. Or the melted cheese. Or that it’s not a sub sandwich. It’s definitely different and that might be it.
Tip of the day: if you’re eating for two, don’t get a large for $ 10. Get two mediums for $ 5. You’ll get more food for the same cost. The large is 8 inches in diameter while the mediums are 6 inches. Here’s the breakdown of the cost per square inch. A small is $.33 /​sq inch, a medium is about $.17 /​sq inch while a large is about $.20 /​sq inch. So your best volume for your buck is the medium no matter how you slice it.
The original is excellent. It’s what I’ve always gotten, but the wife doesn’t like all the ingredients so when we go together, she likes the turkey and guacamole. Also an excellent choice.
This particular location has been here for a long time. Inside appears to be freshly painted, mainly because there’s nothing on the walls except paint. Previous times I’ve been in, there were signs and posters on the wall. The staff seems nice enough, though it’s one girl and she was outside talking to her boyfriend when we pulled up. She walked in before we got to the door and took our order. After giving us our order, she followed us out the door back to talk to the boyfriend. The wife commented, «I’d fire her so faaaast.»
Schlotzsky’s is a funny name and I believe it to be a serious sandwich. Dead serious.
