Meet the Business Owner

Steven D.

Business Owner

Steven DuMais is the second generation to run the family business. In 1975, his parents, Dick and Rosemary DuMais, were college graduates in good careers supporting a family of four children. DFW Airport had just opened a year earlier, and the couple believed that with the new airport and the strong economy, Dallas was ready for a new moving company. With no experience in transportation, they purchased their first truck. The first truck was a used International Harvester straight truck from Ryder. They took out a personal loan from the local credit union for a down payment, and Ryder financed the balance. It all started with debt and a used truck. Fortunately, they were successful, and after the first few trucks in the fleet were paid off, they built a fleet of over 100 units without putting themselves in debt for equipment again.
