Over the past 5 years I’ve had work done at LaMettry’s on 3 different cars. First 2 were rear end collisions, they did a great job on both cars (a Mercedes and a Lexus SUV). They were thorough and repaired damage that wasn’t immediately evident. More recently, I had dings and scratches that they were able to buff out. Worked with Todd Petersen, great customer service. I highly recommend LaMettry’s!

Lamettry’s is fantastic! I’ve been taking my cars there for over 20 years, and they are always great to work with. They do quality work, and make insurance claims totally painless. Today they went above and beyond — complimentary service with a smile. Greg, you’re awesome!!!

This place is in cahoots with the Honda dealership. Honda referred me to LeMettry’s for an estimate. Sometimes I think car repair places can overcharge if they think you are gullible and don’t know anything about cars. I trust this place and I was relieved by how reasonable the cost was. Greg and Nick did a great job on my car. They were very pleasant and efficient.

I have about a 6 inch small crease on my door that I wanted to get an estimate for. Went there because they said they do paintless dent repair. I wanted to see if the cost to have the dent repaired was less than my $ 500 deductible.
First thing I was asked when I went through the door was who is your insurance company?
Then an associate came out and looked at the door. First he said he could probably fix it at about 80 perfect. I was ok with that. I said give me the price. Then he took a picture of the dent and brought it inside and apparently showed someone the dent. Came back out and said he was told that the dent couldn’t be fixed by paintless dent repair and it would cost $ 1,200.00.
Uh huh, sounds like an insurance gouge to me.

Over the last decade (and several Honda vehicles later), I don’t believe there’s a dealership that doesn’t know my face or name, for better or worse. I’ll be the first to tell you that I’m a very friendly person, but I have expectations and a mild (arguable) case of perfectionism.
You might be wondering how this is relevant to LaMettry’s Collision in Richfield, MN. Over the last year and a half, I’ve been frequenting Richfield Bloomington Honda. Even under intense construction, they have the best prices and service of any local dealer. They’ve had a partnership with LaMettry’s as long as I can remember, though I have never utilized it… until today.
I brought my car in to have the summer tires put back on my 2013 Civic Si sedan, as well as a handful of annoying warranty issues — including a misalligned rear door that has plagued me since I bought the car brand new.
The dealership wasn’t able to address it and recommended we bring it to LaMettry’s. Not wanting to spend more time waiting or have to come back in a week, I declined their offer, as the non-​flush panel was purely cosmetic.
James, who works over at LaMettry, happened to be walking through the dealer’s service bay, and my service advisor introduced the two of us. A quick look over of my car later, James said to pop by when I finished and he’d get it taken care of.
Blown. Away.
I brought the car over to their facility next door (which is immaculately clean, by the way), and within a few minutes, James had taken my car in to straighten out my concern. I didn’t even have time to connect to the wi-​fi when he came back and said he was done.
To say I was impressed would be reductive. He went out of his way to look at my car over at the dealership and got me in — and out– in under a 15 minute window from the moment I left the car dealership and my car looks fantastic. I worked in hospitality for years and this level of service is nearly non-​existent these days.
I cannot recommend James or LaMettry’s highly enough. In a world suffering from mediocre customer service, it is incredibly nice to see that there are local businesses out there who are not only willing, but HAPPY to go the extra mile.

Before the sun rose on National Ice Cream Day (July 20^th), some jerk-​face drove around Minneapolis and used hefty soccer ball-​sized rocks to smash the front windshields of black Honda Civics. Mine was not spared… Not only did the glass look like a drunk frat boy had cannonballed into it, but also (I believe) the weapon of mass destruction (rock) rolled off the window and scratched and dented the hood on its way down to the ground. Needless to say, the damage on my car left it inoperable, and if I ever find who did this, that person will receive a Timberland roundhouse kick or Rising Dragon Uppercut (
) to the face by yours truly.
Several hours later, I called the Minneapolis Police (who did nothing) and my insurance agent. My insurance agent and I met up a couple days later, and one of the first questions she asked was, «Have you ever gotten body work on your car? If so, where?» The first business that populated in my mind was LaMettry’s, since I used them about a year ago when some crappy person scratched my car backing out in my apartment’s parking lot. #donthavethebestluck4real Within a couple hours, my Civic was toed to LaMettry’s Richfield-​Bloomington location.
My ride sat in the shop for eight days, and during that time, several communication breakdowns occurred:
–One day, I had two different people call me within a four-​hour period telling me the same news.
–When I called each day and asked when my car would be finished, a representative would tell me a different date and time.
–There was never a mention of the deductible that I had to pay.
–One time, I was transferred to five different people to answer one question. The person that ended up answering my question happened to be the first person that transferred me. #ridiculous
Not to mention, when I arrived in the lobby and approached the receptionists, today, one of them made eye contact with me, then quickly looked away and decided to call someone on the phone to discuss a personal issue. Rude. Thankfully, the other receptionist was kind enough to help me.
So you’re probably thinking, how is this a four-​star review?
After the receptionist fetched another staff member, he showed me out to my car. And when I saw my car, it seemed like all of the minor annoyances fled my mind. The work on my ride was Heath-Ledger’s-acting-in-The-Dark-Knight immaculate:
–My spanking new window didn’t have a speck of dust on it and beautifully glimmered in the sun. I wanted to hug it so bad! But, it’s too wide and that’s just weird.
–Regarding the bodywork, the staff removed ALL of the dents and scratches from my hood.
–The new paint blended very well into the rest of my car.
–I also learned that all damage exceeding $ 5000 (ouch) receive a complimentary shampooing. I appreciated that.

Despite the frustrating communication breakdown and rude receptionist, I still trust LaMettry’s. It’s kind of like focusing on the irritating characteristics of your girlfriend, but forgetting that she makes a mean fried rice and watches football with you.
I hope that 1) there isn’t a next time and 2) if there is, they can improve their communication by being more transparent about the status of my car. All in all, I recommend that you get any auto glass or body work done at LaMettry’s.

I had a wheel that needed to be repaired. I had scheduled a rental car that was to be delivered at 9am… but at 9:30am there was no rental insight (the rental company was overbooked, and was way behind.) I needed to get to work, and I asked if the repair could be done while I waited. Robin and Becca worked to make it happen, and in 1−½ hours I was out the door with my wheel repaired! Even though the rental car company was not LaMettry’s fault, Robin and Becca took ownership and treated me with urgency and care (even let me borrow a desk to work while I waited). Thank you! I would recommend this place… what unparalleled customer service.

I had several large scratches on my car from a parking garage pole. The Audi dealership recommended LaMettry’s so I stopped by for a quote. I told them that the car had a lot of milage so I wasn’t going to invest too much money into the repair, but that I still wanted to try to cover the spot since it was on my front bumper. Mike understood and said he’d first try to buff out what he could. 15 minutes later and you could barely tell and when I asked the price he said free of charge because he had already had the buffer out. I would definitely recommend this location because based on my experience they are very honest, kind, and know what they are doing.

Took a day and went around to various auto body shops looking for some paint less dent removal work as well as some advice on other areas of the car. By far the best results were found at LaMettry’s. I had a few dents taken out at a very reasonable price and was told that the best options for the small scratches were to buy some touch up paint across the street instead of have them paint the areas. I was looking for the best options for my money. One place wanted to do $ 700 worth of work and another $ 500. I got the results that I was looking for at a price of less than $ 160.

Super friendly & honest employees. He fixed what I came there for on the spot, no charge. Was there probably 20min. Certainly going back.
