Paul’s Rentals & Sales Inc

We’ve used Paul’s, which is ½ a mile from us, to rent extra chairs for parties as well as the odd tool that we don’t own (i.e. electric impact wrench). They have a huge array of furniture, party goods, and professional quality tools. They are very reasonably priced (with discount coupons on their site), totally low pressure, and very helpful in making recommendations. This is the epitome of a great local business. If they weren’t here, I’d have to drive 5 miles to Bloomington. Recommended.

I used to really love Paul’s Rentals. I liked the people and it was a collaborative affair to rent equipment. Yes, they had old tools, duck taped and soldered together, but this was part of the charm and it was balanced with relaxed return times, a wink, and good nature. However, the last few visits, I feel that this charm is gone and the soldered ducked taped equipment is still there. The last straw came after I rented a wire feed welder over the weekend when I spent half my four hour rental time trying to get the feed to work well enough not to snap the wire. When I finished the project, returned it late and reported the issue, I was accused of not knowing how to use the equipment or not calling during the project to report the issue. In the end, I was charged +$ 50 for an afternoon of frustration, and, apparently, an insult. I’ll check back in with this business someday in the future, when they update their stock or realize how to treat customers with respect. BTW guys, my welds are beautiful when the feed doesn’t jam.
