Great shop with lots of character toys. I wish I lived closer!

A great place to discover lost treasures. You need to check back often as they are always getting new stock in. Looking for a specific item? Ask the owner and I bet he can find it for you. Reasonable prices and always a pleasure to visit.

I don’t know what it’s like to own a small comic/toy store. So I don’t know what’s a realistic amount of hours to be open to have a profit so you can stay in business. That being said, I do know the state our economy is in as a whole, let alone a guy trying to run a book and toy store. In the end, it does seem a little weird that he chooses the days to be open and closed that he does(and only two of them on wednesday. Perhaps, the fact that Wednesday is when most comic books are released is why he chooses it to be his Monday. That being said, you can’t help but deduct some points since he’s not always accessible. The store does have a certain charm to it. The look is very inviting and it feels like the people there are passionate about it. That’s a nice site to see and sort of makes up for the weird business hours. It wasn’t busy when I went in… but the amount of people who were there, took up a lot of room. It’s pretty tight. Even the rooms that have no one in them feel short of space due to the amount of things sold or being used as decoration. Yet, that’s a good and bad thing. There’s a HUGE variety of stuff to choose from and look through. You could get lost for hours(easily the whole time they’re open). Heck, I had to make sure I didn’t by grabbing the main thing I wanted and checking out. Which I’d actually like to give them props for because they held it for me(the last copy of a comic I’ve been excited for). I enjoyed my time there and hope to go there more often. I wish i was closer than 30 minutes away to support their nice little business more often. If you’re willing to go there Wednesday — Sunday, feel free. You’ll like it.

I really love this place and have since I first found it. There are always new things to look at and the prices are pretty reasonable. I also had a great time at the couple of toy fair type events that I’ve gone to sponsored by them. If they could get a little bit better coverage so that they could be open more it would be perfect.

Our boys’ favorite local toy and comics shop. There are a ton of open toys available at reasonable prices for the kids and non-collectors, and plenty of collectibles too. The owner is great to talk about toys with, old and new. Also, if you have toys to sell, you can at the very least bring them in for store credit.

I was traveling one day and I ended up being an hour away from It’s A Toy Store. I figured that it would be worth the hour drive even though it was out of the way, as long as it was open… though I have read a review where someone had driven out to the store to find that it was closed(no official hours, apparently). To avoid the same thing happening to me, I called ahead and asked what time they were closing. I was told«4:00pm» over the phone, which would leave me 30 – 40 minutes to check out the store after my hour drive. After arriving at 3:25pm and parking in the gravel lot in the back, I walk up to the door only to find that it’s locked. A piece of paper is «taped» to the door(using price stickers) and says that the store was closed at 3:00pm due to a family wedding… Why did the person who answered my call(most likely the owner) not know about their«family wedding» when I called at 2:30pm? I will not be attempting a return visit, and will be telling my other collector friends to do the same.

We randomly stopped by this store on our trip to Atlantic City over the weekend. The whole family had a great time – but especially my husband with the great collection of older toys. My son loved the Simpsons, Starwars, toy cars, posters and comic books! We were only going to stay for a short stop, but we just couldn’t leave. They are open primarily Thursday thru Sunday, so check out the hours. We will definitely be back!

It’s a Toy Store but it wasn’t an open toy store. We took a trip out of a Monday after noon but they were closed. The store itself looked at an adult child’s dream come true but the hours are not conducive for those heading out on a lark.

If you’re looking for toys from late 1960’s to today, this is a great place to go! Classic selection of Star Wars, GI Joe, Transformers, and all types of sci-fi and fantasy collectibles. They also carry comic books and related items. Great, friendly staff.
