Oh, the train. The train, Boss! The train!
I thought it’d be a little faster. That could be my fault. If NJ Transit and the MTA can be counted as being more on track than Amtrak, then there is a problem. Geez. Even taking the Greyhound bus was easier and better. And given Amtrak’s numerous problems in the last year regarding accidents, I should have known better.
There’s the fact that my train to leave was very late. The staff on the train kept asking for my ticket even though it was where they took it and placed it on the luggage rack.
It’s a mess. This is the definition of «if you have to, you have to.»

Beautiful building, but with only one track, it’s not uncommon for the trains to be a bit delayed. Food options are sorely lacking, but the location is right downtown so if you get there early enough, you might have time to sneak away and grab something before you board (don’t eat on the train! The food is the equivalent of eating what you buy at a 7⁄11). Not the best, but to the worst. A fine option for getting into Richmond if need be.

Beautifully set up train station. Easy to find with plenty of parking. Plenty of seating set up in different configurations throughout the second floor. Very gorgeous building with free wifi, air conditioning, and CLEAN.
There is no real food sold in this building. No little cafes. Just vending machines on the second floor.
Only problems: the Quik-​Trak machine ate my ticket (which got resolved with a quick phone call) and the lady at the main desk really hates her job. If no one is at the desk, I don’t expect a quick question regarding the location of the ladies room warrants a death glare like I’m trying to kick your puppy.
