Becoming a reformed couch potato is a daunting task, but the coaches at CrossFit Full Circle make it both easy and hard(in the best possible way) at the same time. Like another reviewer, I had heard a lot of different things about CrossFit but never tried it. It sounded like a lot of fun because there are so many different things to do instead of the typical boring gym routine that makes me feel like a hamster on a wheel. But would it be a warehouse full of monster athletes tossing tractor tires and giant ropes, jumping up onto boxes as tall as they are? Ripped powerlifters jerking 500 pounds up over their heads? I started out with a free class, then bought a Groupon. It turned out I was in the right place with newbies like me(albeit probably not as old, slow, and introverted), along with supportive veterans of all ages, sizes, shapes and abilities. The coaches and interns are amazing. Giving excellent advice and tips for tweaking every move, they are super supportive and provide great motivation. I only started a few months ago and I am feeling healthier. Even though the changes are coming slowly enough to test one coach’s patience, I am stronger and faster each time I go. They also provide some great nutritional information to maximize your results. Sorry to hear about the first reviewer’s issue with the terms of the agreement. This can easily be avoided by choosing a term that will work for you. Suggestion for Mike G and other new members: read and understand the terms of the agreement that you make, and review based on those parameters. I’m sure he knows that now though. :-)

When I joined, all I knew is that I wanted to try«Crossfit.» So, I joined Crossfit Full Circle because it was the closest gym to my house and they had a good introductory offer. What I’ve learned in the months that have followed is that I got really lucky. Every Crossfit box is different and if you don’t know what you’re looking for in a box, you could end up at the wrong one for you. Crossfit Full Circle wants to help you get stronger and reach your goals. They have done that for me. Their small classes, amazing programing, and coaches who care about helping you do things right is what makes this such a great gym. With their help I’m stronger, faster, and actually looking forward to going to the gym each day.

Joined after moving to Richmond a few months ago and have found a second home here. Great facilities, welcoming, supportive, and knowledgeable coaches, and a variety of different training options(traditional WODs, barbell/strength, endurance, yoga, etc.). Have already increased my strength significantly and the coaches have been very attentive to working on the mobility issues I brought with me. I could not recommend this place more and will miss it greatly when I have to move later this year. I normally don’t do Unilocal reviews, but felt compelled to share because of the two bad reviews I saw here. First, the coaching staff is incredibly experienced(you can read their bios and backgrounds online, which you should always do before joining a Crossfit gym/box.) Second, the coaches have been very hands on in my experience. Lastly, I feel sorry for the reviewer who purchased too many classes, but that hardly means the folks at Full Circle deserve one star! You can buy smaller bundles of classes at first to be on the safe side, or — like a lot of businesses — you can get discounts for buying larger bundles. If you buy a dozen burgers because it’s cheaper and then you fail to eat them all, that doesn’t make the burgers any less delicious. They’re burgers. Of course they’re delicious.(I think the analogy just fell apart, but you know what I mean.) At any rate, the coaches/owners are very understanding, and it sounds like they were in this case too(offering an extension). All in all, I’d strongly recommend trying Crossfit Full Circle if you’re interested. I’ve had an amazing time and am fitter than I’ve been in years.

Coaches and gym are nice. However, coaches are inexperienced and don’t provide the hands on coaching that a crossfit gym needs. Not a real crossfit experience.
