Established in 1994.

Dominion Due Diligence Group (D3G), formerly known as Dominion Environmental Group, Inc., was established in 1994 by Robert E. Hazelton. D3G was the original third party due diligence consultant to concentrate on the Department of Housing and Urban Development-​Federal Housing Act mortgage insurance industry, and our solid reputation, earned by our dedication to our core values of integrity, quality, innovation, and teamwork, has allowed the firm to grow from one employee in a basement office into a full-​service Environmental and Engineering real estate due diligence company that currently employs 120 people, 111 of which are located in our Richmond office, focusing on the nation’s housing and healthcare markets.

Business Owner

Rob Hazelton is the President and Founder of Dominion Due Diligence Group (D3G) and has accumulated more than 20 years of real-​estate due diligence inspection experience, focusing primarily on environmental issues, building code compliance, construction engineering, cost estimation, and green buildings. Rob has both construction experience and training in building engineering and design practices pertaining to mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil concerns. As the President of D3G, Mr. Hazelton’s duties include supervision of field projects, client contact, management of client accounts, and technical review. He was active in the review of the HUD Multifamily Accelerated Processing (MAP) and LEAN Section 232 processing guidelines, and has participated as a speaker in numerous mortgage lender and affordable housing conferences.
