Greater Richmond Interfaith Program

GRIP is one of my favorite establishments for volunteering. I come here on my days off and visits home to help serve the hungry and needy.
GRIP, as indicated by the title, is an interfaith program that was set up by many of the local temples, churches, and mosques as a collaborative way to serve local community needs. They have some beds for the homeless or those in transition, and I think a large space of them are reserved for single mothers with their children.
I end up volunteering at the food kitchen. We usually arrive around 10:30am to help Chef Armando get his yummy cookin’ out to the locals. They come between 11:30 and 12:45 for lunch. For Thanksgiving, they usually have enough volunteers to do a sit-​down style of serving, by which volunteers take orders from seated guests and bring food to them.
I really enjoy spending my time here and find the clientele to be very polite as I serve them. I highly recommend engaging the folks here for services or to help serve the greater community.
