We provide professional, turnkey junk removal services. Customers simply show us what they want removed and we do all the work. We will remove just about anything, other than liquids or hazardous materials. We can take furniture, appliances, construction and building debris, yard waste, scrap metal, paper and cardboard, electronics — just about anything! We even will do light demolition, such as tearing down and removing an old shed or fence.

We recycle, reuse or donate to non-​profits at least 60% of everything we take away — we do not simply dump everything in a landfill! All workers are Junk King employees and we are fully insured and bonded.

History

Established in 2012.

Junk King of Central Virginia is a locally-​owned and operated franchise of Junk King Franchise Systems, Inc. Junk King originated in northern California in 2005 and has grown to a network of 50 franchises in the U.S. and Canada, with more opening soon. The Richmond franchise opened its doors on May 1, 2012.

Business Owner

Bill has been in the environmental field for over 20 years, including several years practicing environmental law as an attorney. «It simply makes good sense. If something is still good and usable, it makes no sense to just dump it in a landfill. Also, if something is recyclable, it can have value as a commodity and the business can save money recycling rather than disposing,» says Bill about the business. His wife occasionally helps out with recycling and donating. «We often donate items and materials to Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity; we also have participated in e-​waste recycling days to raise money for Alzheimer’s research, and „Touch a Truck“ events to raise money for the Junior League.»
