Another consistently AWESOME EXPERIENCE! The entire staff is just a pleasure to do business with, in such a beautiful and yes, actually relaxing environment (under the circumstances).
I really appreciated how they are able to deal with extenuating (or what we may think are too difficult, awkward or embarrassing) circumstances.
Just felt so comfortable asking or talking about whatever I needed a better understanding of.
And I left my appointment (which I didn’t have to wait for) feeling great because «my personal tax accountant» (who says that? lol) had taken the time, patience and courtesy to repeatedly ask me if I had any further questions, concerns or needs. So, of course, I left with none!; because I didn’t want to leave until everything I could think of was answered and IT WAS!!!

Second year in a row and what a great place to do your taxes at. Everyone was very helpful and professional. I highly recommend this place for your tax needs. Very reasonable rates.

We just finished our taxes this evening, and it was such a pleasant experience working with Willie. He patiently answered all of our questions, the price was reasonable, and we were in and out in less than an hour. Evening and weekend appointments are perfect. I highly recommend and will be going back there next year.

I was very disappointed because the price they charged me is double the quote they gave me. I told them it’ll be a long form and the associated schedules, they promised that it won’t exceed the max quoted price. At the end, it doubled the price! When I inquired what happened, they simply said it’s a «miscommunication» and mine is itemized so it ended up to be more expensive. I found it hard to believe that it doubled the price because of itemizing. They refused to change the price and even said that they quoted the price to get new client in. Well, you’ll have to keep the new client too. I’m just very disappointed by their services.

Ever since I was in college in one way or another, I’ve been using Kaizen Accounting for over 9+ yrs. The rates are reasonable, I usually get a response and tax breakdown within 72 hrs or less and they look to maximize your return to the fullest! I’ve been a customer here for three years straight. Im very pleased I’m not going anywhere else to get my taxes done. They have exceptional professionalism and customer service. They are very informative and knowledgable when I have any questions. I also like that they expedite the whole experience by not having me at the office more then thirty minutes. Really unhappy about the service I got earlier this year (end of march) for my 2014 Tax Return.
First of all, they were polite and really quick in response — both on phone and email before the appointment. I have no problem for this part and I had wanted to give them 4 – 5 star for this when I first got in contact with them.
However, the service itself would be 0 star if I could give 0 star.
When I call to make the appointment, I mentioned that my income is super simple (only 1 W-​2 from one employer) and the reason I’m looking for help is because of my dual status last year. I was under the condition that I changed from F1 student visa into a PR green card status. The filing requirement gets really unclear because of dual status and I wanted some help. Also, I scheduled an emergency flight out of state and really want to just pay and get it done. The girl on the phone say there is no problem and they have plenty of experience on this situation. I even follow up with a email re-​confirming this situation and they confirmed having no problem. I got a quote of «perhaps around $ 60, probably even cheaper since the income is so straight forward».
The day of appointment came and I was introduced to the «helper» really fast. They were nice and fast, which is a plus. However, since the «helper» isn’t really a CPA, I’m guessing he doesn’t really know what he is doing. Apparently, nothing was mentioned to him of my dual status and he doesn’t really seem to understand even after I explained to him. He made the decision I should use 1040NR and started filing. To be honest, this is when I started to feel really uncomfortable. I’m not really looking for a data input assistant to just file up a 1040NR form — if it’s just filing that form, I’ve filed it 2 years already. He basically just filed the blank without really thinking what he is filing. I even caught a few mistake and confirmed & corrected it during the filing process. At the end, they generated a tax return and say they can’t electronic file it due to NR status. Here is where they earn themselves 0 star. The price came out $ 200 and you can’t reject it after they generated the forms. This is a total fraud in every point of view. It’s not like I did not make it clear to you before scheduling the appointment, and why would the price more than triple?
Ok, if they just ripped me off and did a good job, I’ll still give them 1.5 or 2 star.
The best part is — I felt really uncomfortable about their unprofessional service and decided to spend the whole night digging up tax regulation (during the night which I should be packing for my flight tomorrow) and realize they have my tax return completely filed incorrectly. I spent 3 hour studying and re-​filing it myself — luckily they couldn’t send it out and I have to send it myself, otherwise I will have to file for amendment. I finished it at midnight and send it out so I could catch my flight the next day. You can imagine the pressure.
So, I spend a morning at their office, got ripped off for $ 200 buck, and still had to do the tax return myself. Awesome service!
If you are sure you are 100% US residence and you have only (1) W-​2 to report. If you are looking for a typing assistant to enter number, which you have to figure out the number yourselves. I strongly recommend you go somewhere else.
I didn’t had time to complain to them right afterward — because I was catching an emergency flight and end up in Asia for three full month due to family issue. But at least I got back in time to put up a alert for anyone considering them next year.
I’m more than welcome to talk to Kaizen if they believe any part of this is not true.

I have been going to Kaizen Accounting for several years now. They are very honest, thorough, and hard working. I appreciate having them for Accounting and Tax consulting. If you are looking for great professional service, I would strongly recommend them.

Very disappointing. For whatever reason I assumed I would be meeting with a CPA, I guess because I had informed them in advance that I had a complicated tax situation. But it was actually a seasonal tax preparer who does little more than type in the numbers from your W2 into their tax software — this is like paying someone to do Turbotax for you except without Turbotax’s importing features. He didn’t even read the documents I gave him about this complicated situation, and I knew more about it just from Googling than he did. So I left and they said they would «do research». The research resulted in them calling me back to say that their software doesn’t handle this situation and it would have to be computed manually. Personally I feel like there is too much at stake here to have the work done by someone who has never heard of this situation and who doesn’t know inside and out what their software can and can’t do. When I said I wanted to make an appointment with the CPA they have on staff, they didn’t even have his upcoming schedule. Moral of the story — if your situation is too complicated for Turbotax, make sure you’re meeting with a CPA.
Re: Their response — not accurate. I was told by a manager there was only one CPA on staff and his receptionist told me she did not have his schedule to make an appointment. This actually happened.

I highly recommend this place. My wife and I went here to have our income tax return done. The staff are really friendly. We were helped by Elena. She was very professional and very knowledgeable. She made sure that we did everything right in our taxes and she also pointed out things that we missed. We would definitely come back here.

Another fan of Kaizen! My fiancé’ and I had H&R Block do our taxes and then they shared with us what the bill was. OH NO! So we took our paperwork back and found Kaizen. They quoted the fee over the phone and it was probably ½ of what HRB was going to charge. Good deal, let’s give them a try.
We were given an appointment according to our convenience. Upon arriving, I was impressed by the office décor. Very tastefully decorated and fresh. A hospitality bar is waiting for you to help yourself. As soon as you walk in you’re going to feel welcomed. Now, for the tax prep itself. While my Fiancé was being helped by Mr. Willie, Miss. Elena started inputting my info so that when Mr. Willie was ready to do mine, there would be less wait time. So efficient!
The total effect was equal to HRB, in that the return did eventually add up to what HRB came up with, less the overpriced fee. The only hitch was that an earned income deduction for me was missed and after my Fiancé talked to Mr. Willie and a phone call was made, the deduction was put into play and my return was a much healthier dollar amount.
Over all, Kaizen was a great experience. I would suggest to anyone to go over the paperwork they email you and compare it to last years if your situation hasn’t changed drastically. This is probably good to do no matter who does your taxes. They are very friendly an great to work with and very reasonably priced. The price quoted was the price we paid. I would feel very comfortable in saying that Kaizen tax preparers are honest and also to recommend them to any one looking for a good group to work with.

I thought I was going to get my taxes done in weeks. I just sat there and boom it was all done. so quick!!! Ver good customer service. Elena is nice! She helped me real well. explained everything I need to know. I am so going to have them do my taxes again next year. :)

I have been to several tax preparers! Which includes myself performing my own taxes! That was a headache in itself. To be able to go to experts who know how not to only prepare your taxes but offer a great comfort while going through sometimes a very stressful time. I appreciate the customer serve, follow skills which are important. You comfortable and at ease. It has been six years now and I can truly say they are my trusted friends!

I just filled my tax for first time in USA yesterday with this office. I just went there following the previous reviews. I have to say that whole process was excellent. They are really professionals since making the appointment until signing your file. The personnel, environment is highly friendly. I have to say that it worth every dollar that they charge. For my perspective the price is wise for the quality of service received. For sure I will continuing with this firm the next coming years

I found myself in some tax trouble so I turned to Unilocal to see if I could find someone to help me out of my bind with Uncle Sam. Regardless of who I chose, I fully expected to not have a good experience. I mean… we are dealing with the IRS. I was more than pleasantly surprised with the experience I had with Kaizen. It started with the professional reception and greeting and ended with me filing two years of tax returns in under two hours. The process was smooth, and I received some great tax education. I WILL be using them for my future tax preparation service in the future.

I changed to Kaizen Accounting Solutions about 3 – 4 years ago and I’m so glad I did! The service is top notch (it’s actually a very pleasant place to go because the people are very friendly), and it’s always such a smooth process. I filed for an extension so I just got my taxes done and, as always, it was such smooth process that I just had to Unilocal them! Kaizen has been the best place that I’ve been to for tax preparation. If you’re in the market for a new accountant, definitely give them a try.

The lady (tax professional) who prepared my taxes for years really screwed up from 2008-​10 and we received refunds we where not entitled to. I was audited in 2011 and went to her for help. Her reply was «OOPS, SORRY’! I am still paying for her mistake.
But last year I visited Mr. Thompson at Kaizen Accounting and he helped my family get back on the right track. He completed our taxes correctly, letting us know exactly how much we OWED Uncle Sam. Additionally he helped us fill out the paperwork for a payment installment for back taxes CORRECTLY and provided the correct fax numbers to send our materials in a timely manner. Finally he told us to adjust our W2’s at work so we won’t have to deal with this again.
I understand first hand how someone messing up your taxes will frustrate you and make you consider Turbo Tax. But trust me the professionals at Kaizen Accounting are well worth the $$$. If you owe, they will let you know! And that beats being audited any day of the week!

I am very pleased with this place. My experience has been excellent from the moment I walk in to the point I leave. I just happen to try a number of tax preparers w/​in Kaizen and their standard of professionalism and knowledge is what I can say top notch. Kaizen Accounting has thus proved to me that you can go to whichever tax preparer within their company and still get the same thorough quality of service. I was going to name some names but I have confidence that every person there is honest, friendly, patient, transparent, and most importantly credible. What I love about this place is that they took the time and patience to explain every detail I needed to know about my money. Especially, that I just got married and it being our first time doing our taxes together, I had many questions. You will be satisfied! Oh and btw, they have free snacks and drinks for clients.
