Enjoyed a fantastic live art show by SPARC! We were seated on the second level, all the way to side. Our view of the stage was great! We were so close despite being higher up. Seats are tight which I expected given the assumed age of the theater. Nice looking theater with interesting moldings. I enjoy that type of thing about older theaters. Clean space. Friendly ushers.

Beautiful old theater. They do traveling Broadway shows there. Decent seats but the sound is often horrible. It’s a deal breaker. Some shows are better than others. Just saw«War Horse.» Sound quality was way, way worse than bad. We were in center orchestra, row E. Only 5 rows back. Sounded like you were being shouted at by someone in a echoey stairwell through a shut door – then run through an amplifier. 80% of the dialog was lost. Not just to us; I overheard complaints and discussion about it to both sides and behind us. I complained and they offered to reseat us in rear orchestra or the mezzanine post intermission. Not knowing if it would be better sound elsewhere, and moving that much further from the stage seemed imprudent so we toughed it out. We’ve watched quite a few shows there through the years. For several years we held season tickets to their Broadway series. The previous worst sound was«Hairspray» a few years ago. «War Horse» in the new *winner*. I’m not sure we’ll be attending any more shows at the Landmark. It’s a shame, but these type of shows aren’t cheap and it’s a real crap-shoot as to whether you’re going to be able to hear dialog or song lyrics.
