The Richmond Food Shelf and Thrift Store is as good as thrift stores get! I’m from San Francisco where thrift stores abound, and I’ve not seen a better one on the east coast than this little shop in Richmond. If you’re in the neighborhood, or close by in Burlington, VT, this is the place to go for clothes and shoes. They even have jewelry, purses, belts, and a whole bunch of other items I did not even get a chance to check out. Their clothing is top quality (I had three practically new winter coats I was choosing from) and at incredibly low prices. And best of all, proceeds go to the food bank they run out of the thrift store, to which you can also donate while paying for your ridiculously cheap new duds. I got a warm winter coat and a pair of oxfords for $ 11! The ladies working their were also great and helped this California girl find a nice winter coat.
