Meet the Business Owner

Chef Matt L.

Business Owner

Matt Lee of Atlanta, Ga., discovered his passion for cooking while working at high-volume steakhouses in his hometown. He went on to earn a degree from Atlanta’s School of Culinary Arts and became chef saucier while working at a prominent Atlanta restaurant. He then opened a Columbus, Ohio, restaurant serving New York style pizza and eclectic dishes.

An opportunity to open a fine dining restaurant in a renovated hotel took him to Concord, N.H., where he performed double duty as executive chef and food and beverage director. Aramark enticed him to Richmond as executive chef at Altria Group Inc. headquarters’ employee café, private restaurant, and catering.

Matt is focused on establishing a strong connection between the university and the downtown community, while making a positive culinary impression on Richmond’s food scene.
