Sports Backers Quarterly is actually published 6 times a year (they do two special editions) and is geared toward those interested in athletics, recreation and healthy living. I like that there is finally a mag in Richmond that promotes healthy living as Richmond has never been known to do so in the past. I know there are tons of athletes here, you just never hear about us in the same league as other cities when it comes to healthy living… could be that Tobacco Capitol thing though heh?
The articles I like are «Training Table» and «Ask the sports medicine physician». There are also great articles in this latest issue about fun on the James River called «River Whirl» that gives a comprehensive view of getting the most out of our cities’ river bounty. Other articles on Kickball, cross country cycling, James River Trail System and those making a difference in the health and sporting community all make for a great read. I am glad I found this great quarterly.
