Self-Realization Fellowship Temple of Richmond

I was floundering in my faith– not sure where to go, if anything beyond what I was already doing would ever surface to put me in touch with the divine on a real level. A friend encouraged me to read Yogananda’s Autobiography and it deeply moved me and I wanted to learn more. Lucky for me I had the lessons to sign up for and this temple about a half hour away from me.
On my first visit a couple of years ago now folks were kind from the start and the info I’ve learned there has helped me though some continuing difficult times with sound practical and spiritual advice that helps me keep my sanity though it all.
Yes, they have to move because the temple sits on the North Hayward Fault line (such a majestic spot to worship but what can you do?) But this fact doesn’t change who they are: a great group of devotees who have their hearts and arms stretched out waiting for you! What I would do without them or master I don’t know.
If you’re on a spiritual search for a deeper meaning to your existence why not give it a shot? You need not believe in anything to be helped by Yogananda’s true connection with God and how it can help you find answers to questions of the heart and mind.

After being at this location for almost 40 years, SRF recently discovered that they are sitting directly on top of the earthquake fault line so they will be moving to a new location.

I visited the temple when we were looking for a wedding ceremony site. It’s gated and tucked in up on the richmond hills within a residential area so you probably won’t notice it unless you’re really looking for it. We have to go back on a weekend to visit and I really like how peaceful and serene and open this place was. I’m a Christian and I feel like I can worship and pray and just be who I am here. I don’t feel pressured into looking into another religion or beliefs or something. But at the same time, it’s a great place to meditate and just improve your way of thinking and being.
The people who were there are so friendly. They have lunch on Sunday at noon where you can join them to meet and greet. After checking out couple of brochures/​reading, I’m so determined to attend their meditation exercises and lectures. I went online to check out their schedule
They seem to have a lot of interesting lectures. I’ll definitely attend their meditation, lectures, and other services more often.
There are actually several really beatiful self-​realization temples in California and in US that you can visit for other lectures or retreats.
