History

Established in 2013.

The owner, Brian, opened Sound-​Check Studios to give Richmond musicians a place to expand their potential, and experience other bands in a unique setting.

Sound-​Check is an all-​in-​one music center, with a store, studio, practice spaces, warehouse storage and venue all under the same roof. The studio also does minor equipment repairs as well.

«As a fellow musician, I came up with the idea because of the lack of options available to musicians in Richmond. I wanted to combine multiple services to simplify the experience for musicians and bring a sense of community to the local music scene.»

Business Owner

Brian was born in Tampa, Fla. and moved to Richmond in September 2006 after serving four years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including one tour to Al Qaim, Iraq with 1^st Battalion, 9^th Marines. He has been playing guitar for 15 years and loves to play progressive alternative rock. He was formerly in the

band «On Point» for four years.

Most nights, if there isn’t any recording going on, Brian frequents music venues in search of his next faithful customer, and to spread the word of the newest innovative business in the Richmond music scene, Sound-​Check Studios!
