History

Established in 1999.

Since 1999, Structured Cable of VA has provided the finest home automation and technology integration services. We specialize in home theater systems, distributed audio and video, business alarm monitoring and home alarm systems, home networking, central vacuums, surveillance systems, and home intercoms. We are a division of Security Specialists, Inc., which began in 1999.

The company was started by industry veterans Dan Dubansky and Dee Straub, who have more than 60 years of combined experience in the security and technology integration arena. We strive to provide cutting-​edge security, entertainment and technology to everyone, at an affordable price.

Business Owner

Dan founded ACP Security Systems in 1971 and operated the company until 1993. Since 1999, he has served as President of Security Specialists, Inc. He completes technology wiring for Structured Cable of VA, a division of Security Specialists. He is a national board member for GE Home Technologies and a member of the Home Technology Alliance, a joint venture of National Home Building Association (NHBA)/Custom Electronic Design Association (Cedia). Dan has served on the March of Dimes Board of Directors, and is a trustee on the Home Builders Association of Richmond and the Home Builder’s Association of Virginia. He was selected by Gov. Charles Robb to serve on the Crime Prevention through Environmental Design committee.
