I’ve been going(or have been taken) here since I was about five years old(happy to say that I still like going because it’d be a shame to dislike now). I tend to get the same thing over and over again here: turkey, provolone, wheat pita, Parmesan chips, and occasionally some sugar cookies if I see any. Always good, petty cons include: sometimes the mayo is awkwardly spread and the sandwich is a little sloppier than the one I had previously based on who made it. I live closer to here now of the last year, and can say I go twice a month. No matter what time I’ve popped in(always get it to-go) I’m in and out within 5 minutes. Always a go-to if I want a quick sub, chips, and drink. Parking is easy too. Usually get a «super» with an extra sub and generally pay under $ 15 for two bags of chips two subs and a drink.

This particular establishment had the privilege of being built on a blessed piece of Earth that has a strong magnetic energy field for cute boys, each cuter than the last. I just lose myself in the sea of young ladymen gliding through the heavy air of meat and vinegar. Sometimes a girl is working which completely poisons the atmosphere, but when I look up and see the man with black– rimmed glasses serenading me into the great abyss with the copious amounts of topping choices. Get the full Stuffy’s experience for yourself, it’s a ride you’ll never want to stop.

This used to be one of the best sub shops in town. It no longer falls in that category. The place used to be a fun and upbeat place to go, but with the current group of EMO weirdos working there now, it has lost that charm it once had. The sandwiches used to be excellent. They’re OK now. That’s it. It’s kind of sad to see a place go downhill like this. I have been going to this shop for 20 years. For many years, I used to eat there 2 – 3 times a month. Recently I bought an «Entertainment Guide». I noticed a decent Stuffy’s coupon, and decided to check out the old place again. I ordered about $ 28 worth of food and drink. I handed the guy my coupon. He flipped the coupon over and showed me the small print that said it was for another location. He tossed the thing back at me and said, «This one’s no good here». I told the guy that I thought it was pretty cheesy to be getting«Stuffy’s» exposure in the guide with a coupon that is only good for ONE of their MANY locations around town. I understand that they are individually owned, but the need to make the deal clearer. As it is now, ALL Stuffys are getting FREE advertising, and it enticed me to go to that location, but I get NO discount. The guy said– if I didn’t like the policy then I should just not come back. WHAT!!! I have been eating there since before that PUNK A** GOTH freak was born. I have spend more money in that shop than he’ll make while working there — I was, and still am flabbergasted at how i was spoken to. I am going to miss that place — Fortunately — It isn’t what is used to be —

Very average to below average sandwich. I’ve heard it use to be a big deal back in the 90s but it has gone down hill. The cleanliness is definitely in question. The spray behind the soda machines has been there since W was in office. The sandwiches are like the old Substation 2.

I went in there the other night around 8:00 to pick up a sub. I’ve eaten there plenty of times and have always liked the food and have gotten decent service for what this place is. However when i walked in the door an hour before closing i got death stares, and then halfway through my order one of the guys announces«grrrrr another car just pulled up.» I mean seriously, there is still another hour left. I can understand if i was coming in there at 8:50, but closing a sub shop is easy. Wrap everything up and put it away, 20 minutes max. I’ve always liked the food here but there’s plenty of other sub shops around that i’d feel more welcomed at.

Stuffy’s is my go to place for sub sandwiches in Richmond. The selection and quality is better than chain restaurants. The quality and taste of meat is noticeably better too. They have options for white and wheat bread hoagies and pitas as well. There are a lot of specialty selections, and they can heat up and sandwich is a steamer. The prices are very reasonable, and there are frequently BOGO coupons in local coupon clips as well. The staff at this location is super friendly and helpful too. I recommend Stuffy’s to anyone looking for a simple, tasty sandwich.

It’s funny, everyone else’s review talks about how busy this location is. I’ve only gone when it’s completely dead to the point I wonder how they stay in business. So I’ve only experienced an awkward atmosphere where I’m the only one in the place and feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone. Nevertheless, when in the mood for a sub, the Stuffy’s Virginian(turkey, bacon, swiss) always hits the spot. And they have free Wi-Fi.

You might not notice this place is here, its a little hidden behind Martins. You can consider it a magical discovery. Stuffy’s is comparable to Subway, in the sense that they are a line-gang type of sandwich shop. And like Subway, some of their ingredients are fresh, and some are not. Which places their food quality to about the same. Some of their methods are different, however, as Stuffy’s makes use of a mini-grill. Make sure to ask them to throw on whatever sides you want on your sub on the grill too, like the jalapenos. The employees are down to earth and friendly, which made for a relaxed environment. They were more than happy to share their experience with the menu to a newbie. Stuffy’s is a privately owned chained, and there are only a few of them in the Richmond area. That being said, it’s totally possible for the owners to make changes to improve the business. I think if they focused on making all of their ingredients fresh people would stop comparing them to the competition. Stuffy’s is a great place to eat, and I would definitely come back again.

Stuffy’s is a Richmond institution. I have been to several branches of this chain here and it seems they are all owned by diff people as they are all a bit different. I really like this one — it has a very relaxed vibe and the food is always good, service always friendly. They often have buy one get one free sub coupons in the little coupon books you get in the mail too. can’t beat it! my favorite is the Virginian on a pita :). They are not expensive and take cards if you don’t have cash. Yum, I need to go back soon.
