I’ve visited this location twice. Both times I’ve felt the staff, name tag — Cornelius in particular, did not want me there. after putting meat and cheese on the sandwich he stopped, cocked his head, said nothing but gave me an impatient look which I perceived as, «what else do you want on it?»

I like how every small Texas town has a Subway. It makes for good, consistent roadtrip food. This Subway experience was subpar. The majority of the tables looked unwiped and had some previous customer’s dining residue on the surface. The floor was also noticeably sticky to walk on. The cashier didn’t put napkins inside the plastic bag containing the sandwiches. On a positive note, the employees were friendly, the fountain drinks I picked were not empty, there was a steady flow of customers on a Sunday afternoon, and I didn’t get sick from the food. This Subway is tucked away in a small shopping center behind the Mobil gas station at the intersection of the Sansbury @ Crabb River.

We stopped here today to get lunch for my wife. She went in and ordered a 6″ vegetarian sub. The person who took her order and made the sub put on new gloves, wiped off the knife he was using and then proceeded to make the sub. It was a busy place but this employee took the time to ensure that he did not have meat residue prior to making a vegetarian order. We also had the convenience of having this location on the way home. We did not have to make a detour to the nearest Subway where we usually would go. The sub turned out to well made and I am sure my wife enjoyed it. I have read the reviews about the dirtiness, etc. but this first time worked for us.
