Feel free to explore our current exhibits and sign-up for monthly house tours. Our mission is to reveal the inherent beauty of the created form and space, igniting a passion for design. We accomplish this through innovative exhibitions, educational programs, and partnerships that elevate the understanding of design and its influence on our lives. As a preeminent design museum housed in an architectural treasure, we are both a destination and a resource for the investigation of form and function.

History
Established in 2004.

Commissioned in 1918 by Richmond financier John Kerr Branch, the 27,000-square-foot mansion was designed by John Russell Pope, one of America’s leading early-20th century architects
