Been coming here for over 30 years. Great food. Great service. My boys loved the Pu Pu Platter. Best shrimp and lobster sauce anywhere in the world!

Wow. A good wow. I was looking for your run-​of-​the-​mill Chinese takeout but I found a gem. The food that I got was SO FRESH. Generous portions. They even offer brown rice as a healthier option. I’ll definitely be back.

Have eaten here twice with my girlfriend and both times we have really liked Tiki Tiki. They offer regular Chinese food and some Polynesian dishes. There are unique items like the Mandarin short ribs and Fuji Duck which I recommend. Service is good too.

Always fast and delicious food. Typically my go to for take-​out Chinese, but the service is great if your in the mood for a sit down too. Don’t judge a book by its cover because you’ll really miss out!

My sister and I got two seafood lunch entrees. They were good, but what I really liked was the price at the end. We had soup, fried rice, veggies and seafood (with shrimp and scallops) for 3.99 each. We do not know if it is a promotion or a mistake (since the menu said it would be $ 8 each), but we were happy non the less. We will come back. The ambiance was nice too.

I went to tiki tiki for the first time in many years. I have fond memories of going there many times on a regular basis when I was growing up. Back then it was a real tiki restaurant with grass mats on the walls shells and coconuts hanging from the ceilings with palm trees and lots of colored lights and Polynesian music. It was truly magical and the menu was colorful and the drink menu was illustrated and exotic. The food was really good and menu diverse, the place was always busy and it was a happy place to be.
Sadly, it is s bland cold, too quiet, dull room, the placement of the booths are the same but the magic is gone and it is like any other plain middle of the road Chinese restaurant. The menu has no vegetable or vegetarian options, you have to ask and there are no veggie spring rolls, or appetizers except edamame. Which is a big flaw. But they did make a tofu and veggie dish when asked which was good. The service was like we were disturbing the waitress and the place was empty. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t very good.
I miss the old tiki tiki and they would attract a ton of business if they revamped it to the fun tiki theme again, had vegetable options on their menu and brought back the colorful menus with the inviting illustrated exotic drink list.

This review may be premature, as I usually don’t like to rate a Chinese restaurant based on my first time. I mean, the first time can be confusing. It can be frustrating. Maybe even a little embarrassing. If life is particularly unfair it’s usually all three.
My first time was kind of boring. I played it safe. For $ 6.25 I had two large wontons with five cups of broth, something fried, probably chicken… smothered in sweet sauce. The fried rice was boring, but to be fair it usually is. Despite all that, it really hit the spot. You know… that spot where it feels good at first, but a few hours later you are sure to regret it.
That’s okay though. For those lunch prices I would do it over again. In fact, I will. Probably this weekend, to be honest.

The exterior of Tiki Tiki may cause you to drive on by, but don’t. There is a reason this place has been around for 30+ years. The food (or at least the selections we had) were delicious!
We ordered lunch specials. For $ 6.50, we each got a big serving of some of the best hot and sour soup I have ever had. The broth was rich, flavorful with the right amount of heat, full of fresh things, including enokitake mushrooms.
DH and I then split a beef dish and a chicken dish. Both were ample in size and in taste.
This place is right on my way home from work, we will certainly be back. But I also live close enough for delivery!

Tiki-​Tiki may be the last place in Richmond where «tiki temple» denizens can get their fix, even if it washes weak sauce compared to places like Trader Vic’s and Mai-​Kai. Even so, it currently averages 6.5 out of 10 on Humuhumu’s Critiki webpage which is pretty rad.
Basically, Tiki-​Tiki is a Chinese restaurant with menu selections that tilt Polynesian complete with a separate page dedicated to «Exotic Drinks». They’ve got a hold on classic tiki cocktails like the Zombie, Fog Cutter, Scorpion, Mai Tai, Gun Club Punch, Navy Grog etc. plus a few original concoctions like their signature Tiki-​Tiki cocktail, Be advised that the recipes for these drinks are as bogus as the décor (their Mai Tai is an especially egregious departure from the original). However, all of the six to nine (funny, I can’t remember how many) I had were very enjoyable and extremely reasonably priced.
If you’ve read this far you’ll understand that my Tiki-​Tiki pilgrimage has little to do with checking out their edible offerings, but it must be said that there’s nothing quite like a Pu Pu Platter to wash down a few rounds of exotic drinks. Let it be known that the good folks at Tiki-​Tiki are masters of the fryolator arts and the proof is in their Pu Pu.
I’ll always get bummed out when I pass the shuttered storefront that was The Waikiki on Midlothian Turnpike but I’m glad that Richmond still has something like a destination for us Polynesiacs. Tiki-​Tiki, I’ll be back soon.

Food was okay but phone service left something to be desired. Called recently for delivery (which is our norm) and requested a coupon only to be told that coupons are honored for dine in and take out only. Weird since our delivery coupons have been honored before without question. Oh well, looks like China Panda will be getting our business from now on.
