This is a really great place to grab a beer and kick back.
They have a great selection of beer, a nice space, and a lot of games to play if you brought people. The beers are also available at different sizes, from tasters all the way up to crowlers.
Also, there’s a painting of «Stonewall Michael Jackson» in the men’s bathroom.

Tried the FlaconSmash IPA. AWESOME. Bitter IPA with Touch of orange. Perfect balance of flavored.

Friendly vibe, decent beers. Gave great suggestions for food in the area for 2 Brooklynites looking for a taste of home no frills bar food.

Of all the places we stopped on our visit (the primary objective of which was beer sampling) to Richmond, I liked this one the best. Nice staff, great range of beers to pick from, comfortable places to sit, and a few TVs to keep an eye on whatever event is going on (that a beer tour group leader had his entire group standing in front of the big screen for no apparent reason during the USA soccer game I chalk up to him being inconsiderate, not the fault of TCB). The location is maybe a bit to get to if walking from downtown, and we were a bit more selective in which streets we walked to get back to the Hilton after dark, but it’s doable. The main complaint I have about all of Richmond’s beer places is that the beer is very expensive. Here in NC we rarely pay more than $ 5/​16oz for a normal beer or the same for 10oz of high gravity. Richmond was easily $ 1-​$ 3 higher than that for a similar size/​beer. Overall, if we come back to Richmond, TCB would still be very likely to be a return stop.

Great place for an IPA and some live music. I’m big on shopping local and this place is a great local watering hole. Tuesday nights they do board games so a great way to meet local RVA people. Service is great and so is the vibe.

Nectar & knife double IPA is one of the best ever!
Great place for kids to hang with mom and dad. The grilled cheese keeps EM happy. Don’t miss it if you have the opportunity. NW hops, great craft selections.

Who says you have to travel all the way to Scott’s Addition to enjoy a tasty craft beer in Richmond?! Triple Crossing Brewery is putting out an awesome selection right in the heart of RVA, just steps away from VCU, Oregon Hill, and Downtown. I’m a huge fan of their IPAs on tap! Their deck is a nice feature, and they have the ability to open the front garage door, allowing their inside area to catch a cool breeze. My girlfriend and I just peddled over for a drink during our night ride, and enjoyed a pit stop out on the deck. Perfect place to come relax after a day of fun on the river or a hard grind at the office.

I was so impressed with the service and accommodations at Triple Crossing. We had a group of 30+ people there for my daughter’s birthday and it was a great space. They even set up a table with extension cords so we could set up food and crock pots. The décor was great and the guests had a great time. Not a ton of parking and the curb outside the front door was a challenge for our elderly guests but let’s be real — they aren’t exactly their target market! :-) Loved the outside deck!

Virginia’s best hoppy beers by a landslide. I love the frequent bottle releases they have been doing. Great staff, great beer, and humble yet gorgeous tap room.

Great beer, awesome atmosphere, and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about their selection. Highly recommend checking it out!

Fun place to go.
The only knock on them is that they are frequently without a dark beer choice and I really don’t like IPA’s (which they have an abundance of).

A nice little spot close to The Jefferson Hotel. The bartenders were friendly but I had expected to find a few more beers or a wider variety on the menu. Still I made out fine. They had a nice band for entertainment but it wouldn’t have appealed to all beer goers (a little grunge/​punk). Food would have been great — even just a food truck outside or small things to much on inside.

Stopped in for a beer. Had a bourbon porter and an iPa. Both were good beers. I would come back to see what they had again. No food… 5 beers on tap. Pretty basic. Nice patio, dog friendly

The Beer: All of the beers served here are great. In fact I would say that this is my favorite Richmond brewery beer-​wise. Each beer is like a delicious caricature of a beer, but in the best possible way. For example the Falcon Punch IPA is strong, bitter, tangy, floral, funky, etc, basically everything you would expect or want in an IPA. The bourbon barrel porter is dark, murky, sweet, and of course bourbony and everything you would want from a bourbon barrel porter. And the rest of the beers are similarly satisfying in a quintessential sort of way.
The Atmosphere: Apart from the great beer, this place really stands apart as a nice place to grab a drink. It has all of the features that you would expect to enjoy from a micro brewery. It has an interior that is simultaneously roomy and cozy with a cool view of all of the brewing equipment. There is a pleasant relaxed porch with a modest view and the the staff is as knowledgeable and as friendly any I have encountered in Richmond.
Self service cups of water are another small touch that I appreciate. I have on more than one occasion been wanting for liquid refreshment at a busy understaffed establishment and wished that I could grab my own glass of water.
They also have a large digital display of the drinks on tap. A chalk board listing drink and/​or food specials is something that I generally look for in a bar/​resultant as a sign of a quality establishment as it lends itself well to a specialized and dynamic menu. But at triple crossing the digital board serves this role at an even higher level as it allows even more pertinent information to be displayed than you see on the normal chalk board (ABV, IBU, etc).
The food situation here also combines some aspects that are par for the course at breweries and some that are completely novel. As is typical with breweries there is no prepared food. But unlike some other places, triple C not only allows you to bring in outside food, the flat out encourage it. In fact they even have food menus that consists of the names, numbers, descriptions, and average delivery times of local food delivery services.
They have also recently arranged to have the cultured swine come and sell some of Richmond’s best pork in the early evenings.
They also offer games to patrons which have expanded from standard board games to included group events such as Super Smash Brothers tournaments. They also recently added a cooler with bottles of some of their most popular beers.
And most recently they added to their menu two of probably the most popular non alcoholic beverages right now, Kombucha and Cold Brewed Coffee. I have tried neither here, but I am super excited about both!
TLDR:
I know that this is a long review, but seriously, every time I go to triple crossing there is something new and every-​time it deepens my appreciation for what is truly one of Richmond’s best gems. If you like beer, if you don’t like beer, give this place a whirl. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain. Cheers!

A delightful little… almost hole in the wall that somehow manages to have excellent beer and be literally around the corner from VCU’s Monroe Park campus without being flooded nightly with trashed college kids [hoo boy do I sound old, suddenly]. The spectrum of available brews is good for those with varying tastes and the tasting room is pleasantly industrial without being uncomfortable. The brewing space is quite literally right behind the bar, so the scent on entering is a pleasantly floral, hoppy aroma, with a bit of malt to it. The company itself is tiny [nine people in total, I believe] but has a great thing going and seems likely to expand in the near future to a slightly larger operation, hopefully without losing any of the awesomeness from being a dedicated handful of ladies and gents who love their work. I could wish they had more food options, but they’re enjoyably snacky, so I’m not going to complain.
Entertainment comes in the form of a variety of events through the week like live music or open mic and suchlike, but the peace and quiet right after opening is quite nice and I got to engage the staff in conversation in between waving my arms at the Real Madrid game on TV.

Came here for the post Monument 10k party! I’m not a beer expert by any means, but I enjoyed the Element 79 here. My friend loves the hoppy red ale! You can also do a flight tasting for $ 8, which is a pretty good deal.
They have live music and and an outdoor deck as well — great place to relax and hang out.
We also ordered chips and salsa — and literally got an unopened bag of tortilla chips and container of salsa LOL unorthodox but it hit the spot!

Easily one of my favorite breweries in Richmond. While the trend in Richmond microbreweries today trends toward the far-​out creative, Triple Crossing breaks ranks, instead producing a range of classic styles, each distinct from the others, and all ultimately well done. Additionally, as far as tasting rooms go, theirs is relatively comfortable, and has a deck out back for the warmer months.

I first came to this place on opening weekend and was a little worried for it because of the location (off the beaten path stuck in the side of a hill)…however, I’m happy to report Triple Crossing seems to be holding it’s own nicely. They have a small patio you can sit at to enjoy your beer flight or brew. I was partial to the saison but I don’t think they have that brew currently. It was quite delicious though. I have also enjoyed the IPA. The staff is friendly and you can try a little sip before you commit if you’re unsure. If you’re on a brew tour through the RVA definitely check this place.
