I have mixed feelings about this place. When you can get someone to help you they are very helpful. However, don’t go in there without an appointment because no one will help you. They have beautiful fabrics with varying prices and they will let you take samples home but again don’t think you are going to walk around and someone is going to ask if you need assistance. They won’t.

Love, love, love Williams & Sherrill. My go-to Richmond fabric/home décor store for current fabrics. They carry a huge selection of fabrics, home décor, window treatments, rugs, furniture, beddings, pretty much everything home. Even if you don’t purchase something W&S is a great place to get ideas and see what’s current. Shhh don’t tell… sometimes I get ideas from them before heading to Homegoods or other discount home décor stores. If pricing is an issue, they have a huge sale in January and July…20% off the entire store. This also includes remnants that are already a great steal! During sale time, I have bought remnants for less than $ 10…not a bad way to add a stylish fabric to a chair or make pillows! Also, be sure to see Lucy when you stop by. She is the coolest and most friendly of the store’s designers. She is fab at helping you select fabrics and make a pulled together room. So, run out to Williams & Sherrill to get your decorate on. Be forewarned, it is addictive! Cheers!

I lust after almost everything in this design store, although the most I can afford is an accessory or Christmas ornament. But it’s fun to just look and get design ideas, and the display merchandiser here is gifted. There’s a cute little kitchen corner, with expensive kitchen gadgets and condiments displayed on antique sideboards and in shabby chic hutches. Similarly, the bedding linen area has an old iron bed and fab accessories. I save up all year for my holiday visit here. They have an annual blanket drive: donate an old blanket and get a coupon for 20% off your purchase. WIth the coupon in hand, and a good deed in my karma bank, I don’t feel guilty buying some holiday accessories for my house. Last year, I added to my mercury glass collection and the year before that, I bought vintage bead garland for the tree.

Williams & Sherill probably has the best selection of interior design fabrics in town. The back half of the store is filled with bolts and bolts of stylish textiles. It’s the place to go to update any fabrics in your home. The front half of the store is more of a boutique with upscale furniture, linens, décor items and more. This part of the store isn’t cheap, but everything is beautiful. This is one of those super chic stores where you just wish you could buy a whole room full of stuff and bring it home. There’s a mix of antique and new items, as well as a lot of rugs. I love that along with home stuff, there’s usually a selection of funky handbags, handmade jewelry and even sometimes pajamas in the mix. Even if you can’t afford to re-do your home in Williams & Sherrill finery, it’s a great place to get ideas as there are always a few room setups in the front. It’s also a great place for seasonal décor items or small, cool things that will definitely up the style of your home. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They’re happy to help no matter how big or small of a project you’re tackling.

We walked into the store without an appointment or a previous consultation, and a designer immediately made it her mission to find us fabrics for window treatments. In about an hour, we left with 10 great fabric samples freshly cut from the bolts. We found prices for fabrics as well as finished window treatments substantially cheaper(say 50% or more) at Williams and Sherrill than other specialty stores. We highly recommend this store for its staff, selection, and prices.
