RSA is home to Paolo Rezende Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kempo Newaza Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts training and Cardio Kickboxing. We are part of Rodrigo Cavaca and Robert Drysdale’s BJJ world renown Team Zenith. RSA has programs for kids, teens and adults. We train the novice martial artists as well as the advanced. At RSA you will not only receive top quality instruction and our tuition is virtually unbeatable.

History

Established in 2004.

Rising Sun Academy was established and is run by Dennis J. Melone, 6^th Degree Renshi Roku Dan formerly of RyuTe® Renmei. Renshi Melone is also a member of Taika Oyata’s Shin Shu Ho Family. Additionally, he is an active teacher and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under legendary Brazilian Master Paulao Rezende. Some of Master Rezende’s notable students have been Marcelo Garcia, Damian Maia, Gustavo de Lima, Rodrigo Ranieri de Faria, Paulinho Alves, Reinaldo Ribeiro and Rodnei Barbosa to name a few.

Dennis J. Melone is a 6^th Degree Renshi Roku Dan formerly of RyuTe® Renmei. Renshi Melone is also a member of Taika Oyata’s Shin Shu Ho Family. Additionally, he is an active teacher and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under legendary Brazilian Master Paulao Rezende. Renshi has a passionate interest for mixed martial art fighting, boxing and brazilian Jiu Jitsu as sport. He is responsible for developing Team Rising Sun into one of the areas top training facilities with a multiple championship grappling team filled with young talent and athleticism.
