After being tasked with getting dessert for a Thanksgiving dinner, I found Zilpa’s through a friend of a friend. If you’re looking for some of the best cheesecakes New Jersey has to offer, stop looking. Just head to Zilpa’s for your cheesecakes. First time around, I got the banana nutella flavor. Everyone at the table loved me for bringing it and I got a bunch of brownie points that night. We all wished there were more for seconds. For New Year’s Eve, I picked up the panettone nutella cheesecake which was also a solid choice. Just call in your order and you’ll be able to pick it up on the day you need it.
I’ll definitely have to try out their lunch menu next time!

Cuban here so I think I can review this objectively lol
Stopped in for lunch pretty packed local construction worker crowd
Food is served Chipotle style pick a protein get rice and beans etc etc
Okay the good stuff first I went with two meats that are staples of Cuban cuisine
Rope Vejia & Lechon both were moist and flavorful
Okay now the bad the rice and beans
That should have been spot on as well but the rice seemed way undercooked and the beans had zero flavor
A little mojito and salt never hurt anyone

My work buddy went out to eat for lunch and I asked her to bring me some shrimp enchiladas back.
I put my lame salad back and prepared my belly for some spicy goodness.
She came back, bag in hand and I was already in heaven! It was well past 1pm at this point, but it waa worth the wait. I ran to the restroom (to wash my eager hands), sat down and… boom…
I opened my container to find it full of rice, topped with a spoonful of beans and 6 shrimp.
That was driest dish I have eaten ever (too hungry and busy at work to deal with people.
Booo
And the rice and beans sucked.

I actually got to taste some of their food at a PBA carshow. I had the beef empanadas and a side of rice and beans… both were awesome and very tasty. I will definitely be visiting the actual restaurant in the near future. The only downside are their hours of business, hopefully they can stay open just a little later. :)

If you are looking for a very filling breakfast or lunch, this place is for you. The lunch from the steam table is piping hot and fresh and you get a very large portion. The real reason to visit is for the sweet creations involving cheesecake! Zilpas creates the most delicious combinations of flavors and will make items upon request. Do yourself a favor and get lunch and whatever dessert is freshly made that day!

Went in, was greeted immediately. Went over to the line, ordered my food, and ate it very happily for it tasted fantastic. And the cheesecake, was amazing! Not your usual cheesecake. Must try to understand. Absolutely recommended!
