Just had my first visit here and ordered one of their special Italian cold cut style sandwiches. The sandwich was great! Nice fresh bread with enough cold cuts in the sandwich that you’re able to taste everything with one bite. They had a lot of different choices from different sandwiches to a hot food bar and also some pizza. I’ll definitely get back soon to try some of the other things they have to offer.

Good solid sandwiches, and a great daily selection of hot dishes. The chicken dishes and pastas are always excellent, and the best macaroni and cheese I have ever tasted. I also like the sauteed broccoli rabe and will often pick up a small container to take home. I go there a few times a week and the people that work there are always friendly and helpful. You really can’t go wrong at Genoa. I highly recommend it.

When you raise your menu & prices, your website and FB page should reflect the changes. Still best pie in town but maybe the best deal in town I don’t know.

Best take out in the town and surrounding towns. Rocco and Della and son do a great job. An institution in Ridgefield. Meatballs are wonderful. So, is bread, Chicken Piccata and ribs are delightful. Don’t miss the Godfather sandwich.

This place is an institution in the town of Ridgefield. If you don’t like GENOA you must not like food or life in general.

LOVE this place. Go about once a week, and have lived in town since 2001. The food is delicious and the prices are extremely reasonable, especially their pizza. They have incredible pizza coupon deals, like«Meal For 2″ which is more like meal for 6(Large pizza with 3 toppings and two(large) salads» for about $ 16. Service is always super-friendly, and fast. They now take credit cards with low minimum, so that is convenient if like me you often don’t carry cash. Only wish is that the tables were a little bigger, and there were more of them, as this place gets busy. There are MANY loyal customers to this family-run deli.

Genoa’s been around since I was a kid. I’ve been there perhaps a hundred times or more. And I can say with conviction, through all the ups and downs, good times and bad, in sickness and in health: «Eh, Genoa’s aight, I guess…» Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always liked the place. But I never went there because my stomach was growling for its culinary delicacies, rather due to a hankering for some cheap, quick, convenient food while happening to be in the vicinity. Indeed, that’s the experience you’ll get, and is perhaps fully intended, at Genoa. Good sandwiches, good hot food, good pizza. Nothing’s bad, nothing’s particularly great, everything is replicable either at home or another deli/restaurant. Mouth wateringly average.

Very good deli, with the regular suspects for sandwiches. They also carry some tasty custom selections like The Godfather as well as hot entrees that lean towards their Italian roots like Chicken Parm, Sausage and Peppers, Chicken Picante, Veal and Peppers, Eggplant Parm and others. You can also get some decent pizza and stuffed bread here. As well as order other side dishes. Come cookies and pastries such as linzer torte and black and white cookies, which are tasty. The staff is very friendly and most have been there a long time, which says good things about the store. For a very good sandwich or plate of some of the entrees described at an affordable place, this is a great option.

I was raised in this town. Whenever I come back to visit family, I always have to make a stop at Genoa. Don’t listen to Nicole who gave the review below, she sounds stuck up and they probably intentionally made her food bad so she wouldn’t come back. This is a very special place. Order the Leaning Tower or the Cluckin Russian, so good.

Ridgefield wouldn’t be Ridgefield without Genoa deli. Everything they make is incredible. Daily specials like orrechetti with sausage, penne vodka and manicotti are unbelievable especially for a take out deli(and even come with complimentary bread/butter). I also enjoy their stuffed bread, and their pizza game has been improving, but not one of their specialties. All of their sandwiches are incredible, and made on the freshest bread. Genoa is always crowded but they have a proven system to make the line go fast. If you are only going to eat 1 meal in Ridgefield, go to Genoa. The previous reviews of Genoa are way off base and most likely written by out of towners that dont know how to order a sandwich. My only gripe would be that they are cash only, but if you are as good as Genoa, you dont need to offer credit card payments.

I have to second the review by Nicole K. below. I asked for an Italian sandwich, and i got meat, cheese and bread. It was wrapped, so i only found out when we got home. To me, olive oil, lettuce/tomato, etc. are not options on an Italian sandwich — they are part of the deal. This should be pretty basic for a sandwich shop — especially one with an italian name! I gave two stars rather than one, because my experience with the place is limited. But it wasn’t a good start.

My FIL suggested this place to grab sandwiches for our road trip. We walked in and the place was *packed*, like easily 10 people on line and several more sitting/standing about. I thought that was a good sign. Actually, it turns out this place is probably busy out of habit. As in, people eat here out of habit, or because everyone *says* it’s good, but it’s really not, but everyone has convinced themselves that it is. Except it’s not. I left my husband with my order«hot soppressata with provolone cheese.» Never have I EVER had to specify more than that at a sandwich shop like this(exception: Subway). 100% of the time in my life(before Genoa deli) an Italian sandwich shop will at least ASK you if you want lettuce, tomatoes, dressing, peppers, onions, pickles — SOMETHING. Instead, nothing was asked, and nothing was included with the sandwich. This lame-ass place literally gave me meat and cheese on bread. And to make matters WORSE, the soppressata was not hot. My husband saw the guy write«hot» on his pad, but they must have wimpy taste buds b/c this soppressata was weak. Even my husband’s special sandwich(the Leaning Tower of Pisa) didn’t have dressing/mustard/mayo, SOMETHING. And the peppers that came on his were bland and gross. 3 sandwiches for $ 19. Save your money and go to Subway. Their Spicy Italian for $ 5 blows this place out of the water.
