Horrific! I ordered take out twice and threw away the food both times. I was so mad at myself for giving this place another chance. The first time I ordered sushi and it was warm & the raw fish not fresh. The second time I ordered a hot shrimp dish with rice and it was so gross I couldn’t force myself to eat it. Again, the cooked shrimp was not fresh. They can easily improve by starting to serve their customers fresh ingredients.

Solid delivery, take-​out, and dine-​in.
We order Japanese every Friday at work. We previously ordered from a place a little closer, but they changed their hours and didn’t open until noon. That obviously doesn’t work. We nearly starved.
Echiban delivers as well, and upon getting the first delivery, we noticed the quality of everything was a bit better than our previous joint. And it got there sooner since their hours are more conducive to our needs.
Sushi is fresh, portions are healthy, even the Chinese food is solid.

this is definitely one of my go to spots. everything I’ve ever ordered comes faster than the delivery time posted. they have such a variety as well and always fresh. definitely a decent spot you’ve gotta try.

This is a solid place for all right sushi. I’ve only had the sushi, miso soup, and salad. I’ve also only had deliveries, so I can’t attest to the atmosphere of the restaurant, or other menu offerings. But what I’ve tasted was good, the prices were reasonable, and the delivery was quick.

We were looking for a sit down Chinese restaurant in the area so, like any self respecting Unilocaler, I turned to Unilocal!
I came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try. What got my attention was that they have Thai, Chinese, and Japanese food here! When we got there on a Friday night, the place was packed! They asked us to wait two minutes and then led us to the back of the restaurant where there was a small booth tucked away behind foldable doors. It was really cool! I loved it. Next time, I’ll take a pic so you have a visual of what I’m trying to explain lol
We ordered crab rangoon, soup, edamame, vegetable gyoza, and spring rolls as apps. Everything was tasty. For our entrees I ordered beef and broccoli, coconut shrimp, and another entrée that slipped my mind. My order was the coconut shrimp which was good but was a little too liberal with the mayo in their sauce. I’d definitely order something different next time. My hubby liked his food and we’d definitely be back.

Good prices on lunch items, very filling. Soup and salad good but the spicy tuna roll was to die for. Great lunch for the price. Food was fresh and colorful. Nice quiet lunch spot

I order from this place at least once a week and it’s usually really good. I’ve ordered a couple of things that just weren’t up to par. Depends on what you order and when you order it. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad. Can’t always rely on them.
But the pros definitely outweigh the cons here.

I really like this place. My husband and I started coming looking for some variety. We were tired of the same takeout food in our neighborhood. Long story short, we now order or dine in at least once a week. I think is the best for sushi in our area. The 5^th star would come when they add uni to their selection and the tamago can improve (was dry last time). But if you want a basic straight forward sushi place in your neighborhood, then this is it.

I’ve got to say, the food wasn’t bad. The plates were dressed nicely and the food was seasoned well. The place itself is a bit small but it is neat and tidy. The wait staff were a bit slow but it was really no big deal. All-​in-​all, I’d say give it a try.

Great sushi. I ordered from here twice and both times it took around 20 min. The sushi is great and their baby octopus is also tasty. I deffinetly recommend this place.

Christ, I stumbled in because it was raining hard and the Polish joint we were originally visiting was closing. I wish I could take it all back.
I’d call this a sushi dive, but that would afford this middle of nowhere hole a status it doesn’t deserve. The small & very uninspiring sushi section kind of scared me upfront, so I made the mistake of ordering hot food. The half dozen imbeciles that kind of run this 4 table place are much too busy staring at their devices to actually give a sht about food or how it’s prepared. They’re here to solely take the parent originated money of clueless/​tasteless young transplants that seem to come & go and call in deliveries with what resembled regularity.
Go anywhere else. Take your chances with anything else.

I’d give this place no stars if i could. I came here after work on a Friday night. It wasnt crowded so i didnt expect a long wait. After being ignored by the lady at the hostess stand a waitor finally seated us. There was no hello or even a smile. No eye contact. . Nothing. Zip. . i waited and watched as the employees scurried along without so much as a glance in my direction. No water, no menus, no apologetic «I’ll be right with you»… so, i got up after what may have been enough time to disgust me and bring me to my breaking point and walked right out the door… no customer service or etiquette and i will never return. .EVER !!!

Waited too long for service, walked out. I was trying to get take out but it looked like seated people had been waiting a while also. Should really have someone up front at all times.

It looks ok in there. The staff is a little pushy which I do not like. The food is not all that good.
Soft not crunchy tempora. That’s a big no no and I work in the industry so I know how to make batter and it’s either the fryer is too low or u just re-​fry or take it out too soon. I ordered the California roll and boston roll. How and why were they warm? I sent it back and said I don’t like hot sushi I mean it was warmer than the tempora veggies! They brought back fresh made not sitting out sushi.
I don’t believe I will go here again. Rather go down the street to tendo. You figure a place that has been there a while would know how to make the food right? I think no.

Wouldn’t recommend the sushi but the chinese dishes are pretty on target.

I work very close to this place so I ordered lunch from there yesterday. I will definitely order from there again and try some of their other items!
The restaurant was nice inside, quiet. The staff was very nice. I was actually struck by how pleasant the woman who gave me my food was. Very inviting.

We were probably both hankering for useless carbs when we decided on this place. She wanted a sushi roll and I wanted noodles. This place seemed to have it all!
Pad Kee Mao:
They make it differently here. The veggies listed on the menu were ones I’m not accustomed to having with this particular dish. We were nervous, but we asked if they could replace ALL the vegetables they have listed with vegetables that we wanted. We feared they would mess up the order, but they didn’t. They got it right. The dish wasn’t bad, but one key ingredient was missing… fresh Thai basil. I understand every cook has a different recipe, which is why I can understand the use of different vegetables, but the basil, well, that’s part of the sauce… the essence of the dish! You can’t alter that and still call the dish by this name! #fail
Sushi Roll:
She wanted a roll that wasn’t on the menu, so again, we made a special request. The order came correct. Kudos again! Except it wasn’t very tasty. Spicy tuna, avocado, and shrimp tempura, nothing fancy. It wasn’t horrible, but it was dull and didn’t really meet her (or my) expectations.
The service is friendly and they handle special requests well.
The restaurant is clean and neatly decorated.
The prices are average and a pinch lower than the sushi spot across the street.
I REALLY wanted to like them, but they failed to make our palates happy.

Decent bento box.
They should roll up their blinds. The place from the outside looks permanently shut down, even when it’s open for business.

Situation: the sky was gray, the ground covered in snow, and the last thing I wanted to do was brave the tempestuous weather in search of sushi. And yet, my stomach was urging me to find some. There is a lack of sushi restaurants in Ridgewood, but I found E-​Chiban and thought to myself, «what the heck, I should order delivery and see how I like it!»
Conclusion: I definitely recommend E-​Chiban. I was pleasantly surprised by 1) how affordable the rolls were, 2) how ridiculously fast the delivery service was, and 3) how delicious and fresh the rolls were. I think I found my new favorite sushi restaurant in ye old Ridgewood. This sushi is delicious! Erm, this sushi was delicious!

Oh god. The guy who was there today was a total arse! Usually the service is below standard, and easy to deal with, but damn. Also, the thai iced tea was disgusting today. It tasted as though it was rotten. I’m not surprised if the stuff they used was past date.
I need to find a roll that has fried shrimp in it somewhere else… It’s the only reason why I go.
