Nice store and nice staff. I found the product I wanted and the female staff person was able to help me pick the hair product I needed. I don’t know what the negative reviews are about. I will definitely come back.

Complaints of employees following customers around need to be addressed. It’s really not that bad, and this is all based on one’s experience with whether or not they’ve ever worked in retail. Managers of retail stores(especially in NY) order and require their employees(who probably aren’t happy with it) to be aggressive in «helping» customers find things. As a former retail employee, I can tell you we’re practically bullied by our bosses into annoying customers. It’s not something we like to do, but we’ll lose our jobs otherwise. Retail sucks. On a more applicable note. This store is a decent beauty supply store. It’s no greater, nor more terrible than the others in the area. Nearly every one of them I’ve been to has been pretty similar. Go here if it’s near you. Don’t go out of your way if it’s far. Getting around NY on public transit is annoying, so base your decision on traveling; not whether the store is gonna be sporting a halo over the roof and angels start singing when you arrive. It’s just another typical beauty supply store with the same stuff and the same policies. I know it’s common to complain a lot in this city because we’re all crowded together and usually frustrated as hell. But relax. Give each other a break once in awhile.(and not a physical one)

Omg. I don’t understand why this place has previous bad reviews. I never had a bad experience in fact I prefer to come here than any other beauty supply in the area. The manager is always extremely nice helpful and respectful. The store is always spotless and well stocked(a huge selection of Dominican products) which I love. He usually has samples of new products when you check out. What more can a girl ask for?! Yes they do check bags and yes the girls are very attentive to what is going on in the store. But I prefer that than to be completely ignored as I have experienced at other beauty supply stores in the area. I am a very loyal customer and I travel from brooklyn just to come to this store. Don’t be swayed by other reviews. This is a great spot.

I’m not impressed. I want to like this store– its a small neighborhood business very close to where I live, that said– I do not. Every single time I’ve gone in there(dressed very nicely, straight from work) I have been followed like a shoplifter. The shop-person asks more than once(every time and they don’t know anything even if you actually do need help fyi) if I needed help. I said no, just looking. She stayed literally within two feet from me the entire time I was in the store. And they have cameras. And metal detectors. SOWTFGIVES? Based on other reviews this is apparently how they role. So fine, now I know. I’ll take my business elsewhere. They don’t have a large selection of products anyway, but more importantly, they need to understand that everyone is not out to steal their crap. You shouldn’t treat your all customers like criminals.

This store has everything beauty related. Some products are pricey but some are dirt cheap. The store is always spotless and the customer service is great.

This store always has what I need. However, the employees here are annoying. I went in yesterday to find something that I’ve never went in to shop for, a hair razor comb. I walked in, wearing headphones and walked directly down the aisle looking for this item. I immediately felt a woman here speed walking after me. I acted like I didn’t see her. Once I got to the end of the aisle, I turned right into the other aisle. When she finally caught up to me, she asked if I was looking for anything. I said, «Yeah, since I noticed you were following me.» I told her what I was looking for and she didn’t even know where it was. She had to ask the manager. I ended up finding the razor on my own. I come into this beauty supply all the time but this was the first time I was followed like that. Girl, relax. You’ve seen me plenty of times before; I’m not gonna take anything. But, I know the manager makes his employees follow people around. It gets to be a little too much at times. If I needed help, I’d ask for it. Don’t stalk me. Like I said before, they always have what I’m looking for & it’s in a convenient location for me, so I’m gonna keep going here, but it’s never really an enjoyable shopping experience.

Typical beauty supply store. Has cheap junk jewelry in the front. It’s not my favorite in the area. Below are a few reasons why. When I first started to shop there, the help would follow me around. Assuming that their bosses have their employees watch any customers like a hawk. Earlier this year, I was looking for a particular shade of blond for the front of my hair. A platinum blond shade. Usually one of the old lady brands will do, but this place didn’t have it. The old lady brands usually run from $ 3 — $ 4 a pop. I asked one of the salesgirls, and she tried to persuade me to order this shade that retails for $ 20 instead. She kept on insisting since I wasn’t a professional hairstylist, I should go with her suggestion. What she didn’t know was I had been doing my hair for years. In fact, one time I even had my whole head platinum blond, without my hair snapping off. Why I didn’t keep up that shade was basically it’s a pain in the ass to upkeep. I kindly turned down her advice and got some other merchandise. Went in today for a small item. The store didn’t have it. Decided to take a photo with my cellphone so I could text it over to someone, because they were looking for local beauty supply places. Also so I could post the pic on Unilocal. That didn’t sit well with management. As soon as I took the photo, one of the store owners came rushing out.(Business must be doing well, since the shop had no customers.) He wanted to know why I took the photo, and what it was going to be used for. Of course, he started to get real close to me. A friendly inquiry as a disguise for attempted(failed) intimidation. I already had a similar experience a few months back in Glendale. From my point of view, whenever a business owner gets nasty about their store being photographed, it sends off red signals. Either they’re doing something illegal, like paying employees off the books, doing unethical business practices, etc. You see, if I ran a business, I wouldn’t mind someone taking a photograph of my shop, because it might mean free publicity, which in turn could bring in more customers. Yet, if you object to having your business being photographed, then you’re majorly hiding something. I told the reason why, but of course he didn’t like the response. So I asked him if the store was doing something illegal. He said no. The reason for his paranoia was he didn’t want people to take photos because he didn’t want people to rip off ideas from his window display. That was the biggest bunch of BULLSHIT I’ve ever heard. I used to do store and visual merchandising. For starters, Macy’s, Saks 5th Avenue, and other places make it a point to have their window displays photographed. Quite frankly, this small beauty supply store had a real shitty window display. Having a few fake Christmas trees with cheap ornaments in the window does not make for cutting edge design. This store is hiding something. I walked away from the guy, telling him that I’ve changed my mind about not sending the pic to my friend. What I didn’t tell him was instead I decided to type a review of this business. I wish I could give this store no stars. Anyhow, I went to another beauty supply and found what I needed. The other store was bigger, and had a much better selection. Guess where I’ll be shopping at for now on.
