At first, I used to always hate this place and think that it was a lame chain store, a la Blockbuster or Sam Goody. Fortunately, I was wrong — this is really an awesome comic books store in disguise. They have such cool movie merchandise and collectible figures, and tons of cool gifting options. South Park mugs? Freddy Kruger T-Shirts? Weird root things that writhe and glow in the dark that look entirely way too phallic? They have all of that and more. They also have a really nice selection of dead cheap DVDs. I don’t know if they are previously watched or not, but getting a good copy of Goodfellas for $ 5 is pretty awesome. They also have a ton of CDs and DVDs and accessories — it’s always a fun place to go and get lost for 20 minutes or so. This is basically like the Forbidden Planet or Midtown Comics of Ridgewood, and while it is small, it does have an intense and loyal following and lots of cool stuff to browse through. So, even if it is a chain store, I don’t hate it at all.

You’ll find great customer service and a fairly large selection of Funko collectable stuff! This is one of the best places for your Funko Pop fix. They also carry FYE exclusive figures– recomened!

1) Their customer service is epic. A small store with a small staff but these young kids are the next generation of greatness. They do not wait for you to come up to them. Then you meet the manager. Female is extremely helpful and with the same upbeat attitude. Best place locally to purchase your games. There maybe a Gamestop across the street but that’s a loooooow bottom of the list alternative spot for me.

OHFYE why cant you get better lol. I come here alot to buy some used dvds and games at times. But what I cannot fathom is the poor selection of latin music. I mean seriously, that section is so tiny that you can never find anything new. The staff I will say is very helpful and they are always on hand to help you with anything in the store and even outside the store. The prices are ok. I mean some movies are priced high and some low depending on the movie and manufacturer. I come here because they seem to actually have some games that gamestop doesnt offer. They have decent specials as well. I have bought so many battery chargers here as well since they are low priced and purchased a few bluetooth speakers. BUt in all its a good place to buy dvds and some cd’s.

I don’t have any qualms with this store or its employees as a matter of fact, they’ve always been really friendly and helpful every time I have gone there. I don’t go there for the CD’s, I don’t even remember the last time I actually bought any CD since an album can be bought and downloaded online. Their movie selection is pretty good, can’t complain about the prices, I caved and got that backstage membership which has helped me save a lot on my purchases since I leave the store with about 4 movies. All in all, I give the store an ‘A’. :)

A decent FYE, in that the employees will at least check for items and make sure they are on the shelves. Other than that, Meh.

Your typical FYE store. I wouldn’t expect the most awesome selection ever. As a matter of fact, their CD selections kinda SUCKS!!! Eh, it’s a bit better in the mainstream DVD department. A bit overpriced if it’s under the radar. For example, a Kino DVD release was priced at $ 24.99. Once again, Amazon wins. And stores like FYE wonder why business has gone down. In an odd way, the the former Astoria FYE store was actually better. Hard to believe, I know. Although towards the end, the Astoria location was dying a slow, painful death. I can see why the other two reviewers before me weren’t happy. Strangely enough, I’ve found a few items there. One was a DVD of the 80s band Culture Club in an Australian concert during their heyday. Cheaper than what it went for on Ebay, so it was brought. Another purchase was from the FYE bargain bin. A real schlocky film from the 70s. The title was hysterical, and for only $ 1.99 it was cheaper than subway fare. Unfortunately, the title was the only thing good about the horror flick. Still cheaper than subway fare.

I mean, it is sort of what you expect. A mall-style chain music(CDs only), DVD, and video game store. It seems like there are a few deals to be had if you are looking for used CDs or movies, but I wish we had a proper record store around here.

A pathetic excuse for a music store. The chain itself is bad enough in being overpriced & with the lack of helpful sales staff but this location takes the cake. You can not call asking for the availability of an item since the sales staff is either incompetent or too lazy to look for things. The selection of items is awful & the chain does not allow you to check used merchandise before buying it. Do not waste your time coming here unless you want to pay overinflated prices and get pestered if you simply want to browse. They also have no clue how to handle the purchase of Wii points!!!
