Great neighborhood bar. Friendly crowd and good drinks. It’s my go to place when I want to stay local. There’s good music and a nice vibe. The bartenders are awesome.

This place is fun. I love bars that don’t have that gross bar smell. Queens Tavern is clean, has an awesome backyard and the owners are super nice. Drinks are priced very fairly, and the bartenders are actually friendly(which seems to be a rarity these days). The bar also hosts lots of fun events: Wu Wednesdays, karaōke on the first Monday of the month, BYOV(inyl), and recently a hip-hop open mic that Rusty DJed for! The crowd is chill and mostly comprised of locals. If you ever wanted to go somewhere where everybody knows your name, Queens Tavern can be that place! p. s. they make awesome pressed sandwiches.

Amazing place with good prices and great bartenders. It’s so nice to have a local bar. The regulars are great, and all the bartenders are GREAT. I have nothing short of an amazing time when I come here. Come here and say hi(I will probably be here!) if you’re looking for a good mixed drink, come on a Thursday night and talk to Rina. She’ll make you something great.

Please avoid unless you plan on giving very generous tips. I walked into this bar with only 20’s in my wallet. I ordered a round of drinks for my friends(3 of us) and the price was 18, thus I left my entire 20 for the bartender. The bartender made a huge scene because we didn’t tip her to her standards. We had another round set in front of us and she snatched it away and refused to serve us. I have never encountered such unprofessionalism in the service sector. I live in the area and I dont frequent bars in the neighborhood, now I have another reason not to.

Great bar! Friendly bartenders great atmosphere. Whether you want to attend one of their many events, watch the game on the projector or enjoy a drink in the beautiful backyard patio, the tavern is the best bar in ridgewood. Don’t expect a fancy cocktail just good beer and alcohol and vibes. They’re always updating, now they serve paninis and frozen drinks!

So I’ve lived in the area for many years but usually venture off to the city or Brooklyn when hanging out but much to my surprise they were having a special night called Wu-Wednesday. I’m all for old school hip hop and so I was so happy to walk over and check it out. There was definately a nice turn out and the music was exactly what I went there for. Wu-tang spinning and beers flowing. Unfortunately the majority was large groups and they weren’t too friendly. Kinda felt like I was invading someone’s party. Regardless I brushed it off and enjoyed the music with my girlfriiend.

I really really want to like this place, which is a beacon in a sea of bars in Ridgewood that cater to old men. I love the interior as well as the prices. But, holy hell, this place has some horrible live music played at ungodly loud volumes. I support live and local music, but does it need to be amplified at ear-splitting volumes that make talking to your companions utterly impossible? It should be kept at a reasonable level so that the three people who are actually paying attention to the musician can do so while the rest of us can actually enjoy our time at the bar. My friends and I had to leave because it was so bad and I doubt we’ll be back.

I need to write an update on this place. I’ve been spending a lot more time here, and I love it. Steve is the nicest, most awesome bartender I have ever encountered. He makes you feel like a regular, gives a ton of buybacks, and makes awesome mixed drinks. It’s such a friendly environment — it’s nice to have a place where you really feel like a regular. I can go in here by myself and end up staying for four hours because I always make likeminded friends at the bar and the staff is so friendly. I’ve actually met an awesome group of friends at this bar and we’ve hung out on more than one occasion — how many other bars are there that you can say that about? In addition, you don’t really get the nasty riffraff of other bars — everyone is friendly and you don’t have to worry about barfights or anything like that. Love, love, love this bar.

This bar opened in the space that used to be Caskey’s last weekend. It is arguably now the«fanciest» bar in Ridgewood, but that isn’t saying much, of course. But you know, the only«Edison bulbs» between Edison Place in Glendale and the borough line. The interior is rather dark, with minimal décor, and the usual neighborhood dive bar beer signs are nowhere to be found. The old Caskey’s shuffleboard is still attached to the wall, and the neon sign still glows out front, most importantly. They have a modest selection of mostly rather common«craft» and import beers on draft; the most interesting is the Queens Lager from Queens Brewery. Perhaps they’ll follow the spirit of their name and bring in other Queens breweries like Singlecut, Bridge and Tunnel, and Finback, who knows? The back patio has been refurbished with some real seating, the jukebox will be operable soon, and they’ll also be adding a small menu in the future as well as occasional live music. Queens Tavern does seem to thankfully be generally catering to the regular neighborhood crowd, which has appeared relatively diverse in age and background on my visits thus far. So far, so good. It will be interesting to see how they settle in.
