I come for pad Thai which is good but the most amazing thing about the place is their Thai iced tea with bubbles! It is amazing !

One of my hands down fave places to eat in Jersey! Every single thing I have tried here was delicious and I have never said that about 1 place before. I miss this place because I moved south and now I only have it once in a few months but it’s worth the travel! I recommend the Malaysian curry noodle soup with beef, the chilli chicken(sounds basic but omg no), and pad thai,(my faves but everything is amazing) and the roti canai is a great started. If you like Spicy they always have sriracha near by and always also ask them to make it spicier and they accommodate me. Im not from jersey but when friends and family visit me i always bring them here and they obsess ! Staff actually knows my name know, its kind of embaressing lol(they are sweet) Literally crying because I rarely get to eat here. :(

Do they read their reviews at all? I ordered pick up, bought Beef Rendang which had lots of potatoes with only few pieces of beef, surrounded with lots of broccoli(see picture) for $ 16 that came with rice and, I’m sorry to say, it wasn’t Rendang, it tasted and looked like curry. Chicken satay was succulent accompanied with slices of red onion and cucumber. Beef Satay was well done, very dry(see picture). Roti Canai was good with its curry chicken. Rendang look and taste different every time I order. Perhaps they need to follow a standard recipe to keep food consistent I will not return

Great Asian fusion and their bubble teas are amazing! This is such great Asian comfort food for a cheap price and really quick service. They are personable and it feels like a great family restaurant whenever I’m here!

Came here for dinner with friends and did not disappoint. We got several of the classic dishes: Thai basil, coconut shrimp, pad see yu, and red curry. Ever dish was not a disappointment. I would definitely go back here again.

I’ve been here multiple times and I keep coming back because it’s just a nice family restaurant to have your Asian fusion type of food. The restaurant is small and cozy that seats about 50 – 60 max. There really aren’t other words to describe this place other than it being clean, small, and cozy. The menu contains a variety of Thai and Chinese influence. Curry dishes are available as well as crispy tofu, calamari, and noodle/rice dishes you’re probably used to from PF Changs. My go-to dishes are as follows: crispy tofu(from the appetizers). This dish comes with at least 8 – 10 pieces of fried tofu with a sweet brown sauce. Roti Cani comes with prices of Roti rather than a large piece to peel off. Curry on the side would’ve be better, but it does its job as an appetizer. There’s a string bean dish that I always get with chicken(each entrée comes with your choice of meat/vegetarian option). This dish is delicious with brown rice because of the spices added to the string beans. I had the Thai sweet and sour chicken for the first time last night and it was ok. The dish came with a LOT of chicken which is perfect for sharing and leftovers. The chicken was cooked throughly and the sweet and sour sauce did not disappoint I would suggest this place for locals. The food isn’t amazing but it’s not bad at all. Surprisingly for a Saturday night at 8pm, the restaurant wasn’t packed at all. I’ve definitely seen this place hopping a few times during the weekend… maybe it’s the holidays!

Went here on a whim after searching for some good Asian fusion/Thai around Garden State Plaza. The prices are great and the portions were quite adequate, but the food quality, service, décor, and cleanliness(bathroom) were severely lacking. We had the calamari and vegetable spring roll appetizers. The Calamari was the tastiest thing I had and had me very excited for the meal to come. I also had a Thai iced tea, which ironically was served without ice and wasn’t near cold enough. The spring rolls were standard and the dipping sauce near flavorless. Same as the apps, the entrees were served within within 5 – 10 minutes of ordering(annoying). We ordered the cashew nut chicken, Saigon Beef and some pad see ew w/chicken to share. The Saigon beef was overcooked, small chunks of stew meat with a ton of stringy onions in a flavorless brown sauce. The cashew chicken had some nice chunks of all white meat chicken, and some nice fresh veggies, but to be the sauce tasted weird and was lacking in any spice or nice flavor. I wound up having only 3 – 4 bites due to the off putting sauce taste. Everything extremely salty as well. I asked the server, who only came to our table to take our order, so I had to signal for here, for some hot chili sauce or any condiments, and she brought me a bottle of supermarket Sriracha. The pad see ew was standard and was the most enjoyable of the 3 entrees we shared. After we finished we asked to have the leftover noodles and beef wrapped, but I told the server that the chicken tasted off and that I didn’t like it. She just blew it off and smiled and said«most people like it». I was hoping I wouldn’t be charged for it, but, guess not. She then dumped our leftovers into a styrofoam container and put it in a plastic bag. A visit to the restroom before leaving confirmed that this place was nasty. Bathroom had flies on the wall and was very unclean. My 2 star review might be too generous. Would not recommend.

Dear Green Papaya: congratulations! In one simple visit you have gained a diehard fan. Between the flavorful food, friendly service and abundance of veg options, I’m bound to become regular as of yesterday. Let’s start with the menu. It’s well written and descriptive, not just a typical rattling off of ingredients. Fellow vegheads: this joint is right up our alley. With meatless options for a majority of their dishes, be prepared for some tough decisions. I settled with my usual M.O.: soup and salad. Okay, so no exaggeration, the vegetarian version of their tom yum soup is to freaking die for. The broth is more flavorful than any soup I’ve ever had in my life, and for $ 4, it’s a must-try. I also got their house salad with crispy tofu which was yum. Green Papaya’s tofu is made in-house, fresh, from scratch. How cool is that? Free fragrant and tasty jasmine green tea is also a plus. The service was great! Super friendly and attentive. My sole criticism is the décor. Pretty haphazard, nothing really goes together. Eg, the ceiling fans are literally for a little girl’s room. But who cares? Hard to notice how ugly pink and orange are together when you’re stuffing your face with freaking awesome food. SoOo happy I found you, Green Papaya. Be prepared to see this face often in the future. I can’t wait to try the vegan chicken next time!

Probably spent half my college life and thousands of dollars at this place. My favorites are the Drunken Noodles, Pad Thai, Roti Canai and the Spicy Chicken. They’ve recently updated their menu and added a few cool new options. They have an excellent collection of bubble teas and a house blend Green/Jasmine tea that’s complimentary. Although it’s not what I would call Authentic Southeast Asian food, it definitely takes me back home for a bit. It has a homely/dinner type vibe. Great for larger groups and casual dinners with friends. Really wish they’d start delivering, it would be great for students closeby.

They have great food for their price. I love to go there during their lunch special, where you get more value for your buck. If you’re looking for authentic Thai food, go to Wondees in Hackensack. If you’re coming in with a big group, make sure to call in advance. Their sitting is limited, especially during peak times.

Everything about this place is great, the lighting, the décor, the tables, seating, table setting, the service itself, and the food. I love this spot. Thai basil with shrimp. To. Die. For. I’m a bit of a bubble tea addict and lately, to my disappointment, the tapioca has been stale and tasted old. I have experienced this on several different occasions. It was concerning. I hope they step their game up, I can’t wait to come back and update my review to this location.

This was place was OK, but not super authentic. Went here for a vegan dinner. They’re good about catering to vegetarian and vegan needs. Once we ordered the vegan chicken with our dishes, our waitress clarified our order and made sure to ask if we also wanted our food without eggs. I had the pad kee mao with vegan chicken. It looked like pad kee mao, but it did not taste like pad kee mao. It was much sweeter than I’ve had at any strictly Thai restaurant, and it was not spicy at all. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t what I was expecting. The vegan chicken had a different texture than the vegan chicken I’ve had at other places. It had the texture of Korean fishcakes, but it tasted pretty good. I hear the bubble tea and tofu is good, so I’ll try them when I come back.

More Asian than Thai but good enough for take out. The food quality us good but the flavor is a bit bland. Ginger chicken is good when you ask for extra ginger. I could have sworn I tasted something like ketchup in the Pad Thai so I can’t say I’m a fan of that dish. Their prices are reasonable but I really can’t compare it to the great Thai Restaurants on the West Coast where you get a true influence of flavors from Thailand.

We love The Green Papaya. It is casual Thai food that is individually prepared by a nice family of people. The only negative is that the place is small; but the positives out way. I love mango whatever when its in season and also massaman curry preparation. My husband loves the pineapple rice dish and my daughter love the noodles. If your confused, they explain the menu nicely and will adjust spiciness for you. Very accommodating and fresh food. I love Thai because it is so clean and fresh tasting. I highly suggest this restaurant.

Pad Thai was pretty devoid of flavor and taste. Service was good and quick for take out. Ambience was fine. I’d give another dish another chance just because this is very close to where I live.

This place was so disappointing… I’m not down in NJ often and I know there is amazing food in the area so I’m sad I wasted a meal here. The food was just really bad. Got beef curry with brown rice and it was bland, with a ton of onions that didn’t add any flavor, and the brown rice was undercooked. My sister had some kind of shrimp curry that was also bad. Only good thing our table got was my cousin’s okra b/c it was covered in sambal sauce. Won’t be back. Would rather spend the money at Piiman and get something that’s actually tasty.

I went here for lunch — Sadly the menu wasn’t that appetizing to me because i ended up «YOLOing» what I ordered. I ordered the beef with okra entrée and I was surprised that it was pretty good. I would totally recommend that dish. It’s a small place so its cozy but I did feel cramped.

Let me just start by saying that if I could give zero stars I would. This place failed to deliver on all levels. We ordered Thai staples — green curry, drunken noodles, chicken satay. The chicken was dry, and noodles and curry had a very fishy taste to it. When we asked for different dishes, there was major attitude from all servers. The second round of dishes was equally disappointing. What took the cake… they charged us for everything. The first set and the second set, neither of which we ate. We were then told we didn’t understand Thai tastes and this is how it’s supposed to be made. Food was definitely a 0, and the service took it to negative stars

Green Papaya is a small, no frills type of restaurant but the food is great! The portions definitely won’t leave you hungry! The meal started off with free warm jasmine tea that really made us feel better on a frigid night. I ordered the Chinese eggplant with tofu. The Green Papaya’s interpretation of the dish was well balanced compared to other restaurants. It was spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. The fried tofu was so light and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Although the restaurant was hectic on the a Saturday night, the service moved quickly and efficiently. This is a good spot for a casual meal.
