Jim Cook is the owner and chief inspector of Pillar To Post of North Bergen County home inspection. Jim has performed thousands of inspections in Bergen County including homes, condos, townhouses and multiple family houses. He has a background in construction which includes experience in plumbing, carpentry, and other areas of construction. «Our most important function is to let buyers know if there is anything about their dream house that needs to be addressed that they can’t sense themselves.» We provide information about what any issues found mean in laymen’s terms and how to go about addressing them. Remember that almost any issues can be fixed and often if they are significant defects they will be corrected by the seller.

We have used Jim & Louise for 5 home inspections and every time has been well worth it! Jim is extremely thorough and opened my eyes to some issues in the homes I bought so I new fully well what would be needed to remedy these issues. ANYONE planning on buying a home or selling a home should enlist the services of Jim and Louise at Pillar to Post to ensure that they are buying a sound home. They are easy and excellent to deal with and I would not use any one else for a home inspection!

We had the pleasure of having Jim and Louise Cook do our home inspection. The Cooks were punctual, professional and very helpful. They patiently went through the house with me, explaining anything that was problematic or not up to code. They were meticulous and thorough and went over the house from attic to basement. It was so refreshing to work with someone who was not only professional and knowledgeable but so nice and personable as well. Jim and Louise Cook were wonderful to work with. The set-​up process was easy, just an e-​mailed service agreement. On the day of the scheduled the inspection, Jim was even earlier than I was. He had his college-​aged son with him that day. At first I wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not, but I quickly realized that he was also skilled in the «family business». He did a thorough pre-​check of every room before Jim got there, but Jim didn’t skip over anything. He was patient with all of my questions, and we did a full walk-​through of the property looking at all exterior/​interior points of interest. I never felt rushed and was confident at the end of the 2 hours or so that everything I wanted checked out was covered. The take-​home binder had a lot of helpful tips. The electronic inspection report with digital photos was great. Between my inspection and when he went back to pick up the radon test kit we had a storm with a lot of rain. I e-​mailed Jim to ask if he would mind re-​checking the basement and attic for signs of new leaks, which he did. I would recommend Jim for anyone in the northern Bergen County area looking for some peace of mind for a reasonable price!

Jim and Louise Post run a great business. They are extremely diligent and easy to work with. They literally saved us from buying a home that needed a lot of work that wasn’t evident. Rather than being a rubber stamp for the realtors, as so many home inspectors are, Jim has integrity and tells potential buyers exactly what they are getting into. Plus, he showed up on time and sent thorough reports with pics in a timely fashion. Highly recommended.
