Funk, Soul, or do I dare say Oldie’s? Real music from real talent of the 70’s and 80’s. My new go to radio station. Entertaining all the time, educational on Saturday mornings. Minimal commercial interruptions and then it is short and sweet and back to the music. Keep up the good work. I only wish I could stream the music when out of town…

Bout time some Soul got back on the airwaves from the original LANDOFFUNK!!! Great to hear classic’s like the O’Jay’s, Marvin Gaye, The Dell’s, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Lakeside, Ohio Players, Zapp & Roger up to Chaka Kahn, Michael Jackson and Prince plus some obscure jams slipped in. 98.7 seems to channel its ‘Soul’ from the WDAO of yesteryear when it was a major powerhouse on the FM dial and the first ‘Soul’ station in North America(Yankee states!). While DAO is now a blues/talk/jazz station on the AM dial, the airwaves were definitely left wide open for the funky good stuff to resurrect in a clear station that blankets most of the prime urban area. Of course, you can get your funk fix online but I know many listeners still rely on good ol’ airwaves and 98.7FM fills that void! I’m sure online streaming is coming soon and they say there is HD channel at 99.1. Here’s hoping the new ‘Soul of Dayton’ jams with us for a long time! Tell somebody!
