Good, filling, food at great prices. The Blue Diamond Burrito was fantastic; chorizo, potato, bacon, egg, cheese, and sour cream(left this off). Posole had potential with good flavor bit sadly was undercooked, near was rough and the hominy still on the hard side. Great tasting regular bacon, pancakes wee good but don’t get the strawberry topping, it seems to be canned, maybe frozen, as it had a tinny taste. The double cheeseburger is a simply made burger that reminded me of the burgers my mom would make, it was delicious. Service was friendly and efficient.

I’ve only been here twice, maybe I’ve been unlucky, but I don’t see why the reviews are so good. My breakfast was cold, and the potatoes were soggy. The gravy had absolutely no flavor. But I noticed the salsa was pretty good. So I got the chili verde burrito the second time. I took one bite and sent it back. I never send food back. This tasted like an old dish rag. The owner was very apologetic, and replaced it, with a carne asada taco. That awful old taste still lingered though. One good thing is; their prices are low. They say the third time is a charm, but someone would have to pick up the check, if I ever go back.

A little out of the way for me but I will stop by again! The food yesterday was awesome and the service was equally great. I ordered the chili size and considered taking one to go but then again, DIET. The struggle is real. My daughter got the strawberry lemonade and was overjoyed.

I came here with my family for brunch on a Saturday morning and it was excellent! This restaurant is just a little hole in the wall(sort of a diner feel). Our server was excellent. She was so sweet and got us everything we needed. I got Chilaquiles with carne asada and their homemade tortillas on the side and it was delicious! It was a great meal. The service was great. Food came out quickly. I will definitely be back.

Wow, a true diamond in the rough! Blue Diamond is very unassuming and I was seriously questioning Unilocal as I found a place to park. All of that when away as soon as we stepped inside. We were greeted by the nicest sweetest server. She got us drinks right away and explained some of the menu items and offered some recommendations. I was excited to see chilaquiles on the menu and was instantly sold as soon as I found out it didn’t come with egg(but could be added for those who wanted it) and I could add carne asada to it as well. Others in our party got a breakfast burrito and an omelet and they thoroughly enjoyed their meals too! The chilaquiles were very good, not too soggy and the sauce was tasty. The carne asada could use a little bump in flavor but when eaten with the chilaquiles or added salsa it was delicious. I would not hesitate to come back here again. Our server was great and the food was delicious!

Came in to try the breakfast burrito, excellent price and it was amazing, loaded with food. The price was right for the amount of food I received. My friend tried the menudo and said it was really good. Will definitely be coming here again. Seriously the best breakfast burrito I’ve had in my entire life.

I came here because I read good reviews on their pozole. The service was slow, the servers were pretty apathetic and the restaurant itself was dirty. I didn’t mind though, because I thought what they lacked in service they would make up for in pozole. The pozole was good, but it wasn’t worth coming here. I’ll be looking for other places with quality pozole and service.

Don’t judge the outside. The waitresses were very kind and friendly. Had the French Toast and had no complaints.

Excellent breakfast burrito and not greasy like most hash browns. Very friendly staff that went through lots of memories from their previous location and so many great friends pictures and paintings on the wall.

Really good menudo. Just don’t judge this dowdy place until you taste the soup. I have been well trained. Add in all the discretionary(but IMHO«necessary») stuff: onion, cilantro, chile, oregano, lemon juice, and a bit more salt, and I simply slurped it into oblivion. Their menudo has lots of tripe, really well cleaned and cooked until exceedingly tender. I really loved it but wished there had been more hominy in mine. I asked for a «small bowl» which turned out to be the«child’s portion», and it was more than I could handle. Mr. B opted for pata on the side with his large bowl, that’s the beef knuckle and bone with some marrow. Prepared correctly, it is melt-in-your-mouth good(at least the ones at our favorite dives), but this tendon was chewy, not soft that day. That part was definitely disappointing. But seriously, this soup was one of the better ones in my experience. I would definitely return to have more. Glutton that I am, I also requested a small bowl of chile verde. I needed to compare it to my favorite places. It was good, but I probably would not re-order it. The meat was too lean and not quite tender enough, goes hand in hand usually. The basic flavors were close to what I expect in a good chile verde, but I am still spoiled. The absolute fail was the chile relleno, which I had originally ordered before switching to the menudo. It looked beautiful, but had been obviously frozen and recooked, it had taken on the freezer burn flavor. And I was not impressed with the rice or beans either, they were bland. So they graciously took it back, no questions asked, and my quick switch to menudo soothed my ruffled feathers. The waitress was beyond exceptional. She was near angel quality, taking such good care of us, always with a generous and genuine smile. She is definitely a radiant spot in an otherwise dull, divvy interior. Would I return? Heck yeah! A strong 3 ½ stars.

Really great experience at this place. Stopped by on a Thursday morning, a few other customers but not too busy. Our waitress was super friendly and didn’t say anything about my husbands outside coffee. Food was super cheap and very good. My polish sausage was cooked perfect. Can’t wait to go again :)

What a delicious stop! On the way from Anaheim to Palm Springs looking for a good joint. Burritos are huge and tasty. Homemade salsa, fresh beans, and great staff! Reasonably priced and yummy. A family full of happy customers!

Mediocre breakfast. We don’t eat menudo, maybe that’s great, but, I poured the whole side of salsa over my plate to try to add flavor. It was still bland. The homemade corn tortillas are what attracted me to the place. They were just okay too. Overall I am slightly disappointed. Boo.

First off there is not much to pick from off of Mission in Riverside. Blue Diamond got a decent review on Unilocal and I decided to try. The staff is very friendly and they took our order promptly. I ordered a «bean burger» per the menu. Bean burger arrives and its a meat patty with re-fried beans on top(I dont eat meat anymore). I wish the menu clarified this a little better. The taco salad my guest ate was filled with oil in the bowl which was containing the taco shell. I wasn’t impressed. The place could use a good cleaning as well.

This place was actually a pleasant surprise! It looks a little sketchy on the outside but the service was great. Our waiter was very attentive and always had a smile on his face for him to be the only waiter with about 15 customers. I got an omelette and my bf got the carne asada nachos and we were both very pleased! Great little«hole in the wall» type of place with good food at a great price and stellar service. Great find out here in random Riverside.

We stopped by this place because we were looking for breakfast place on Unilocal and it had five star reviews. We were skeptical at first but after ordering steak and eggs and veggies omelet and meeting Johnny we understand why they have five stars I will be back to visit Thanks Johnny

Talk about a hidden gem. I passed this place twice looking for it. I initially found it using Unilocal monocle, it stood out to me being the only restaurant with more than 3 stars. It is directly across from the stater brothers, and there is parking at the street. That’s it. The walls are filled with pictures. It is a pretty homey atmosphere, and I was greeted with a smile. The booths have fish on them! The main room has ranch and horse pictures, the side room where I’m sitting has airplanes on the ceiling. I cannot lie, I’m digging this place. I ordered an omlette. Soo cheap! 5.95.a large juice is 1.95. And really good. I think they use creamed spinach in their omlettes.

This was my first time eating at The Blue Diamond Café and I was not disappointed. I ordered the Chili Relleno Special and it was amazing. A fresh chili stuffed with cheese and a nice thin coating of batter. It was topped with a delicious sauce and a little ground beef. Had it with rice and beans. The rice was a little bland but added some of their yummy salsa and it was perfect. Beans were also good. Was given chips and salsa while I waited for my food. Chips are made there and the salsa was great, just the right amount of spicy. It’s a small place but a wonderful welcoming ambiance. And that’s a good thing when you dine alone. They have Menudo and Pozole everyday. I will definitely be going back to the Blue Diamond! Have to try the Pozole next time.
