Econo Lube & Tune

Service was quick. It was affordable… But I dislike the fact that they try to say…“oh you need this and this to be repaired soon, or now” Always… never fails… I took it to my mechanic he said the grease on the boot is normal… and rear brakes still have about 25% left… Its cool… guys were nice… but please don’t try to upsell me anything… I’m there for an oil change, and thats it… nothing more, nothing less… Quick and friendly service… That is all #CarryOn

Don’t be fooled by the handful of positive reviews they have tacked onto their little cork-​board.
These guy are dishonest, not to mention completely fake, with their mockery of good customer service.
Knowing exactly what kind of oil my car takes, I shopped around to find the best deal. Specifically, I made clear I wanted full synthetic, and mobil at that. He assured me they had it. I went out of my way for this. The price they quoted me was significantly below the price they charged me when I got there. ($ 30+$ 5 vs $ 50).
Upon leaving, and taking the rest of my purchased 5qt container with me, and after driving 10+ miles out of my way because of the pricing information I received over the phone, I realized they hadn’t even used full synthetic oil. Balls.
They used regular mobil «clean 5000» (but I wouldn’t put it past these guys to put an even shittier oil in an old mobil container).
While I patiently waited to be conned, I overheard them discussing what else they could sell me; and they tried everything from power steering fluid and new belts to a new cabin filter (which I have a nagging suspicion they removed from my car, I have allergies and they started going haywire on the freeway on the drive home).
In the end these guys have cheated themselves out of a potentially loyal customer. I am never going there again except to demand my money back or for them to finish the job properly under close scrutiny.
Ultimately, I guess that’s what I get for trying to save money by going to a shitty, shady little place like Econo-​lube and Tune on Van Buren Ave in Riverside, Ca.
I’ll change my own oil for now.
